The name is better than the product
This hole saw works very well if you need a rough hole drilled. It is definitely not for finished work. As a finish carpenter I have been using hole saws my entire career, so I am well familiar with them. I have many Milwaukee hole saws but a couple of months back Amazon was selling a complete Bosch hole saw kit with quick change mandrels and carrying case for a great price. Even though I am now retired, that set was too nice to pass up. The set only goes up to 3" and I needed to drill three 3⅜" holes. This would be the first time using a Bosch hole saw that large. I used the 1½" saw from the set to drill a couple of holes a few weeks ago and it worked just fine. Then I used this hole saw to drill the three holes in a finished product. WoW! This saw ran true until the teeth touched the wood. It wobbled so bad that I pretty much destroyed the piece I was work on. I had to make a new piece. I was not happy. What I wound up doing was making a template using my drill press and this saw. I laid the template over the finished piece and clamped it in place. This restricted the hole saws lateral movement allowing me to drill clean straight holes. I should not have had to to do this. I wouldn't have had to do this with one of the Milwaukee saws, which I didn't have in that odd size, either. All I am say here is that you need to be really careful with this saw. If your drilling into a finished piece such as a door, you would have the luxury of replacing what you damage as I did with what I was building.

it looks like it sustained very little wear
I am re-building a trailer for a friend, and I purchased 2 bits to drill 7 holes based on prior experience with hole saw bits in my professional, and personal life, these Hole saws usually live a hard life and dont last very long.I was surprised at the longevity out of this bit, I drilled all 7 holes in 1/4'' mild steel 2x4 tubing, and only needed 1 bit. After the 7 holes, besides the paint being removed from the teeth, it looks like it sustained very little wear. The negative of using this bit in a drill press is the Noise, the noise this bit made was ungodly loud and horrible. Use your hearing protection.I included photos of new vs used, and a photo of the drilled tubing for reference to longevity.

Inaccurate Listing Details
I use the Quick Change Bosch Arbor for all of my Bosch Hole Saws. This item, 1 inch hole saw, does NOT fit the quick change arbor as the arbor hole is WAY too small. Therefore I placed this item in the return system. I wish that people would proofread their listings so us consumers would NOT waste the time and money in purchasing stuff that doesn't work.

It will work in a bind.
I ordered this one because it could make it to me in two days and I needed it fast. It worked on plywood just fine but I don’t think it would make it long in steel or anything harder. I usually purchase Milwaukee hole dozer hole saws and those things are the best hole saws I have ever used. This Bosch hole saw doesn’t really even compare but it will get you by in a bind. The tooth construction tells me it’s only made for softer material. Also, this hole saw likes to slide off the hole saw chuck. I don’t have that problem with the Milwaukees.

Good saw
I use this on my pipe notcher from harbor freight. Really last along time. This is just the hole saw not the arbor you’ll need to read the description and order that with it if you don’t have one. The pipe notcher doesn’t use one. I cut sc 40 1 1/4 inch pipe and have a modified notcher for square tubing and they cut a lot of steel before wearing out. I use moly D Castrol while cutting I recommend that as well for cutting steel you need oil.

Terrible
I just attempted to drill a piece of 1/4" plain steel and only made it half way through before all the teeth were gone. I probably have used over a 100 hole saws over the years and never had on fail like this. It seemed like it missed the heat treating step in manufacturing. Not what I'd expect from Bosch. I'd give it zero stars if I could as it wasn't worth anything.

Worked perfect for cutting a hole for my dryer vent.
I used this exclusively for cutting 1 hole for my dryer vent through plywood siding on my laundry room addition. I bought a Milwaukee brand 2 1/2" hole saw with arbor from Home Depot, unscrewed that arbor and used it on this hole saw. It's not easy unscrewing the arbor after using the hole saw, but I didn't want to spend the extra money for a quick release arbor (yet) for one hole.

Needs an arbor
Most on-line ads for hole saws aren't clear about the arbor. In this case, a 1/2" diameter fine threaded shaft is required, Home Depot doesn't carry the fine thread in this diameter. I found a bolt with the right threads at an ACE Hardware. I cut the head off the bolt so I could insert in in my drill chuck. When drilling, it is hard to hold the bit in position since it didn't have a pilot bit and I couldn't use a pilot bit in my application. I drilled a hole in a 1/4" thick piece of clear plastic and clamped the plastic to my work to guide the bit.Having said all that, the bit worked fine.

Another Great quality product from Bosch
I have purchased lots of hole saws and blades and bits over the years and now I don't hesitate or look around I go straight for the Bosch version. This 3 1/2 inch hole saw has already been put through the paces, I cut more holes with it in 2 x 4's, plywood, metal siding, roofing and even plastic holding tanks without losing a step or its edge than most other brands in the past. I highly recommend pretty much everything with the Bosch name, even the books and the Amazon Prime Show.

Excellent Bosch Quality that Doesn't Disappoint
I have a number of Bosch hole saws and Bosch does not disappoint. It cuts through plywood easily and, based on my other Bosch saws, I expect it will cut through other types of wood well too -- although I have not tried this particular one on anything but plywood. It's solidly constructed and can be used with standard sized arbors (I used one from a Mastercraft kit).Recommended.

Great for LED downlights
I purchased this holesaw to be able to install LED downlights in our home. I also purchased a DEWALT DW1803 7/16-Inch Shank Quick Change Mandrel Fits Hole Saws 1-1/4-Inch - 6-Inch. The holesaw easily made straight holes through the drywall. I have smaller diameter holesaws from other brands that always result in imperfections in the cuts, but the Bosch ones consistently gave perfect results.

Great results for a bit more money
A little expensive for my 8 light installation, but the extra cost was worth it. The holes, cut at low speed in reverse, through 40+ year old plaster board were clean, smooth and the perfect size for the INCARLED slim pot light set I was installing. I may install more now I've got this, knowing the result will be excellent.

Very good quality!
I was apprehensive to spend this much money on a holesaw but honestly it was worth it as it just got the job done clearly and easily and I’ll be able to use it in the future for other projects. This is not one time to cheap out and it was exactly the size that it said it would be which it worked for a 4 3/16 light.
