Once you wet it, and then try to use it, it will stay in place much better as you wind it around the treads, it will be softer and seal better as well.

We struggled for days to stop leaking at the threads of a 2” irrigation pipe. This tape finally stopped it.

This tape is in a class by itself. It comes in a re-sealable, moisture-proof bag. The tape is wet to the touch, feeling like sticky water. It might work to seal the 100 to 200 PSI pressure leak in my PVC-to-brass anti-syphon flow valve. I’ve already tried, without success, white Teflon tape as well as much ticker yellow Teflon tape (made for course-thread gas pipes). Unfortunately, the descriptive information for this tape does not mention compatibility with PVC piping. To further my concern, there is no contact information provided, either for the seller or the manufacturer: no address, no phone number, and no website. I intent to either make-up a test piece or just take a chance and attempt the repair, with the hope that at least it will not degrade the PVC.

I was a bit Leary about this stuff until I really needed to seal some older galvanized pipe connections. I highly recommend this tape to anyone dealing with “difficult” to seal joints. I used it on a water heater and it worked fine there too!

sorry its just odd to me but i can not deny its ability to seal up more than normal pipe tape

This tape may work on large diameter pipe, but for 1/2" npt, it is far too stiff, non-pliable and does not conform to pipe threads.
