I decided to wait a few months before writing this review to reflect the overall opinion on the product, rather than first impressions.Overall, this steamer is really useful, not only does it fit with my Stellar 3000 set of pans, but you can use it on three different sized pots meaning that it has rapidly become one of the most useful items in the pot drawer.Capacity, although limited on the base, is actually pretty big, and we've steamed veg for 6 people in this one container. You have to be happy to stack them though, as the variable size means that the base is not as wide as the top. For this reason, you can steam Chinese dumplings, but this product is not ideal for high capacity dumpling steaming :-)Build quality wise, it's of the same quality of my far more expensive Stellar range, which is excellent news. It's also got a nice polished finish on the outside that seems difficult to scratch and does not tarnish with normal use.The best advantage is that you can finally use those annoying burners at the back of your hob to steam relatively large amounts of veg, without having to dedicate one of your larger pans to do so.It's really easy to clean, being dishwasher safe stainless steel, and the lid is a universal fitting for pots of the same diameter, so we tend to use that when cooking curries etc.Overall, an excellent product at an excellent price!

This neatly fits on many existing saucepans and is ideal for single bowl steaming , puddings for example. Its well made,lid allows you to see whats cooking, reputable company and item is very robust as well as being dishwasher safe. This is the 2nd steamer I've bought. I have one which I took to my house abroad. I have a 3 tier steamer, useful for larger quantities of veg but needed a single steamer to cook puddings in.

Bought to replace a 10 year old staple of the kitchen that had seen better days and we're thrilled with the quality, size and ability to use on all sized pans. Great purchase that performs well.

This product is a dream to use as I steam all my vegetables and apples. It fits easily on different size pots too. Much easier to use than the steam basket. The handles stay cool when lifting. Great value for money. 10/10.

Bought because I needed a new steamer insert to make puddings. This one said it was 13cm in height which was perfect. Unfortunately 13cm was to the centre of the glass lid. My pudding basin will not fit, I needed 13cm from the base of the steamer to the top of the steamer, not including the lid. Shame because it is very good quality. Maybe the description should have been a little more explicit?

A friend had introduced me to getting perfect soft-boiled eggs by steaming so I wanted to try it. This product was ideal as it fits a range of saucepans. (6 mins, 20 secs once water has boiled)

This is a good quality item and very versatile. Good for cooking green veg etc while cooking veg in pan underneath. Food is healthier and it saves on fuel.

Good quality steamer and fitted well into my saucepan but the lid didn't really seal down properly and a large amount of excess steam escapes. I used a lid from another saucepan and it fitted much better that the one that came with the steamer. My lid also has a rubber handle, which is much better as it doesn't get hot. The side handles on the steamer are also metal but don't seem to get too hot, which is good.

This is the best steamer insert I have. I tossed out the old aluminum crap ring I had...this is all I will ever need. Sits firmly on top of my 8" pot, and the transparent cover is very useful.
