So I bought a seven pin box with the wire. Going to your vehicle already attached. I put that one in front. And then I bought this box to put on the back side of the trailer cuz I ran all new lights and wires. It's nice having two boxes. One box on the front and one box in the back. A nice having two grounds as well. He really keeps your wires tidy and a very organized. My only gripe is the dark purple is the brown and wire. And the orange is the red. So just so you know. But outside of those little color things it's no big deal. But it's really good box. Good weather tight. Good ceiling seem strong just as the other one I bought for up front.Great product. Good price. Get it

This over all is a very good product, easy to use and install, and the color coded posts make wiring easy to us..Really the only reason I gave it 4 stars, is the fact that the ground post has to have a wire ran from the inside of the box to where it bots down on the frame of the trailer.. they should have a peice of strapping that runs threw the box to the frame to keep it water tight..

It keeps the cabling protected, and allows you to keep the cabling neat. I like that I'm able to run multiple directions from a common point on the frame and the color coordination is great for future maintenance.

Note, this harness uses the RV standard color wires rather than utility trailer standard -- ALWAYS wire for function, not color matching! Color matching will work on some trailers, definitely won't work on others. Those who have installed these more than one or two times know.I bought this with 16 feet of cable with the understanding that I can cut the cable to length, and still have more than enough cable for one or two more pig-tails for the cost of the plugs (under $10 each). Just remember, when you wire a plug or socket to a cable, the wires in the cable are laid into the cable in the exact layout needed, NOT a mirror image. If you find the wires are on the wrong side of the socket, you are wiring the wrong end of the cable into your plug or socket -- switch to the other end of the cable and everything will line up. (Yes, I learned this lesson the hard way, and I hope you don't have to learn it the same way.)

So like most trailer owners the connector gets damaged or gets corroded after so many years. Using a harness junction box allows you to replace the trailer harness end without having to replace the entire trailer harness. This junction box works great, is water resistant, has color coded harness studs and is affordable. The only improvement I could suggest is making the wire loom studs out of stainless steel or something non corrosive such as copper etc. Overall a great product saving a bunch of work when dealing with damaged trailer connectors...

Bought this and a new 7-wire plug and cable for a friend's recently acquired used cargo trailer. He had been plagued with brake and lighting issues during use and thought it was a bad cable. It turned out that the "factory" connections were all "snap splice" connectors in a residential 4 square box mounted under the trailer frame. I was able to position this box at a point where each "cut wire" reached the proper terminal inside the box and the finished product resolved ALL of the wiring issues. The brakes work perfectly, the clearance and taillights all function and the interior lights are now working. I plan to use one of these on every trailer in the future.
