Suspense throughout . Like the way the threads of the story are woven throughout.Thought maybe Brew could have been introduced some better.

The action starts right away with Alex defending his record and his life. He got himself a great lawyer and faced off against US Attorneys anxious to take him down. But we all know his cast of family characters. Figure out what happens next....

Another Alex Cross book … WOW …what a read. Thank you James Patterson. A must read for Alex Cross fans.

When James Patterson introduced his Alex Cross series with Along Came A Spider I was hooked and enjoyed the series till about book 10, London Bridges. It seems that the character and the writing of James Patterson was just getting boring and same idea over and over. There were so many new authors that I wanted to read, so Patterson and Alex were put on the back burner until a friend recently was telling me about the latest Patterson and Alex Cross book, The People Vs. Alex Cross and I have to admit when a Kindle promotion of the book came across my email I was what the heck let’s try it again.The first thing I liked was Patterson told the story of how Alex got to the point he was in this book. The references back to prior stories helped me to understand the characters better.Alex Cross is on trial for an unjustified shooting, the unfolding of the story-line has you holding your breath while turning the pages. There is too many “spoilers” to let you know what happens, but the other story-lines keep you glued to the story. You not only want to know if Alex will be found guilty, but what is happening to the other stories. John Sampson is former partner is investigating the kidnapping of young women, Alex is taking on some clients for psychotherapy counseling, fellow police officer suffering from PTSD after shooting a child, and the inside look of Alex’s family all make for a great story. You find yourself turning the pages, but hating one that last one was there. I borrowed this wording from another reviewer, he put into words what I would have said;“PEOPLE VS. ALEX CROSS is a turning point of sorts. Patterson, who is without peer in the creation of frightening antagonists, is also a master of throwing curves at irregular intervals into the lives of his protagonists. If the conclusion is any indication of what is to come, it appears that Cross and his family will be experiencing some major changes in the next several installments of the series. If you have been away from Cross’ world for a bit, now may be the time to get reacquainted.”

Great read!!! A definite page turner with a culmination of three stories intersecting and kept you on the edge of your seat!!! Love Alex Cross as if he is real!!! Great work!! Also paving the way for the youngest Cross!!!!

Is a different type of kid! Can not wait to read more about him in future books. Alex on a new career path; this will be interesting.

Trying to read the entire series if James Paterson's "Alex Cross" series. Never have been disappointed in any of the books written solely by him.

It has been quite a few years since I last read a novel featuring Alex Cross and I am sorry to say that something must have happened in the intervening years as I feel this story does not quite live up to my memories of the brilliant early novels in the series. Of course it could be that I have changed and am now more critical than in the past or that I had heightened expectations based on long past experiences ... or it could be that I needed to have read the intervening novels and stories in the series to have got more out of this one.On the positive side, the courtroom scenes are wonderfully written and are very dramatic. Alex Cross is on trial for murder; shooting dead two followers of an old adversary, Gary Soneji. As the case unfolds the evidence appears stacked against him. This section of the book is a real page turner and one that had me reading late into the night.The book has a second story-line concerning the disappearance of several young women who subsequently appear in some quite horrific film clips that have been uploaded to the dark web. Alex gets involved in this investigation even though his trial is imminent and he is on suspension from the police service. Again, parts of this story-line are very dramatic and engaging.There are some aspects of the novel that I felt were either incredulous or a little too coincidental for my liking. For example, Alex’s precocious nine-year old son spotting a critical technical flaw that the police cyber specialists missed – yes, I know it could be possible as he is clearly a gifted child, but rather too convenient for my liking. There are a couple of other examples that I will refrain from mentioning as it would mean revealing more of the plot.However, overall, I rate this thriller 4 stars based on the truly gripping courtroom scenes, but I expect more ardent fans of James Patterson or the Alex Cross series will no doubt rate it higher!

This is the 25th Alex Cross book so if you have read the previous 24 or will know what to expect. This latest book will not disappoint.Although this book is titled The People vs Alex Cross I personally found that the trial of Alex Cross is more of a background story than the main highlight of the book. The main plot follows the kidnapping of several blond girls in the area and the dark web, where videos are being shown of the girls deaths, but are they fake ?As with all Alex Cross books, him and Sampson are joined up to fight the worst criminals in the US, even though technically Alex is suspended due to his court case.Another great instalment of Alex Cross and his family and colleagues. Already looking froward to reading the next book.

Having recently read book 24 and then the book shot which leads directly into this one, I was eagerly waiting to see what happens to Alex as he is taken to trial for killing two of Gary Soneji supporters and wounding one other. The court room scenes were fantastic, so well written and as the evidence stacks against Alex, you really feel the tension rise. The reader knows he is innocent (well you should if you have read the previous two books), but that doesn't stop you doubting everything and wondering how the hell he is going to get out of this one.Running alongside this storyline you have another case which Alex gets involved in (even though he is suspended) which causes tension with Bree. This case builds to an enormous climax which subsequently makes Alex realise what is really important in his life. You also have the family scenes which I absolutely love.Another great addition to the stable of Alex Cross novels. Looking forward to reading book 26.

It’s so “all American hero” with the perfect family it’s sickening ! Even a nine year old solves a complicated computer crime which the best minds of the FBI fail to do. The daughter is going to be an All American athlete and Grandma is a 90+ year old wise old bird who is the perfect cook catering for 9+ people every meal time. And don’t get me started on the rest of the family and work colleagues. The story flicks about all over the place in the 125+ two page chapters which make a short novel appear to be good value for money.

I found this book different from other Alex Cross stories as there were two stories in one and it flitted from one to another which I did not like so much. Saying that, it was still a brilliant read. I have read all the Cross books (with the exception of the last release which I will start today) and am intrigued to follow up the Ali storyline. Please keep them coming, James Patterson!
