This mask fits my 26 yr old Arabian mare perfectly.

I don’t write reviews unless I absolutely love or hate a product and my father is the same way and even harder to impress than I am. So when he told me I needed to write a review I knew we both agreed that this is a very good product. My horse has uveitis so his eyes water a lot which means he has a lot of flies in and around his eyes. The last fly mask we bought for him was completely destroyed by the other horses because it was easy for them to take off of him due to the strap and how bulky it was and while he didn’t mind us putting it on him, he didn’t like it very much. He seems to like this mask even though it goes over his ears (we were worried he wouldn’t like that) and the other horses have yet to get it off of him. It is easy to put on and pull off. The mesh is lightweight and more flexible so it doesn’t rub on his eyes like the other one and it doesn’t have a strap so the other horses can take it off easily. I am very impressed by this product and will be recommending it to others

I’m so glad I tried this mask after my mare, a/k/a Houdini, managed to get her Roma bug eye mask off multiple times even after braiding her main into the top loop! She’s recovering from a tooth extraction that left a draining hole under her jaw, and I have to keep the area covered to keep pesky flies out to avoid the dreaded summer sores common in FL. This mask is a game changer-it has no top loop to braid her mane into, but it fits so well, she’s not gotten if off while rolling in let out! I know own 4 of them to rotate! The quality & fit is so much better than the Roma, and the bright pink & turquoise are adorable on her. Side tip if your horse has a face injury that’s draining-I tape a sanitary napkin in with cloth tape & it works beautifully 😊. 8/1/2020 update-my mare still wears these masks regularly & the new patterns are really cute! However, the stitching around the edges is lower quality now... instead of the nice double hem, they are just rough sewn & I question how long they will hold up. I have repurposed some of her older masks when the netting became too snagged & collected shavings & hay by cutting the netting out to use with a bit less bridle to protect her nose from rubs. She kind of looks like a race horse in them, but it does the job! I just wish the original mask was still available as the newer version is not as well made.

I loved this, many people have this fly mask. The only problem with this type of mask is if the horse does not like it, it does no good. Thank goodness my horse does not have a problem. I just started using it, however other people have the same thing so I will mark it durable based upon what I was told. I have purchased many of these masks now. Wash in machine gentle cold water and hang to dry. It is in fact durable. My horse goes out to pasture every other day. No problem. If your horse is head shy, try this anyway, it will just take time. You have to place it on the bottom of head and bring up, for me that means bending ear due to it going up. Change every other day.

I love the lightweight design, fit, insect protection and good visibility for the horse and ordered one for each of my three horses for pasture turnout. One tore the binding around the head opening after a week; another tore a hole in one of the eye mesh coverings (the mesh is not super fine), and the third one lost his in the pasture somewhere after wearing it well for two weeks. IDK how he got it off. It may be very suitable for trail riding (under the bridle) or trailering protection, but did not stand up to pasture use.

My order arrived on time. I ordered Cob size after reading reviews. It's plenty big and stretchy for all of my full size horse,very lightweight plenty of eye room. Mesh is ok but not fine enough for no seeums. I have now had this on my horse for a few weeks and very loose around the neck and flies have got under her jaw, loose around the nose, the ears have snags, and everything sticks to it like velcro. I will add she is turned out on grass pasture with free choice hay. Maybe more suited for stall use or dirt turnout. I will not purchase again.

But it does get a bit loose at the neck, and he manages to always get an ear out. Has to be braided into his mane to keep it on.
