Great Shoe
I have a pair of Solomon GTX with speed laces and I've literally wore them out. The toe area of the sole is slicker than a F1 tyre.Having read reviews on purchasing another pair of Solomons, i decided they were too expensive and the quality seems to have gone downhill.SO, i decided to go for the Adidas version being the Terex Swift. On inspection, they are quite stiff and probably a half size smaller than my usual size 8.I'm wearing them in the house to hopefully help them fit. They don't seem to have got much more comfortable yet, but i've probably only wore them about 6 hours.Time will tell , but fingers crossed, these shoes will do the walking.**Edit**After having these about 4 months, they’re still quite stiff and the width hasn’t got any better. My feet feel compressed when wearing these for 2 hours +.If I was to buy again, I’d go a half size bigger and wear thick socks. They are a decent quality, but just too narrow and the sole is very stiff.Edit 3 nearly a year old and still stiff. Not as comfortable as my previous Solomon or North face, the soles are just sooooo stiff. If the soles were softer, they would be brilliant.Won’t buy these again.

Waterproof and comfortable good lacing system
I am tag lazy so when I have lace up trainers I slip them on using a shoe horn. With these trainers I don’t have use a shoe horn to it’s like having slip on trainers.I prefer to wear trainers through out the year and these are my go to trainers. My feet are always dry in them even after a heavy rain storm. You would have to submerge your feet a lot to get your socks wet.I find they are very comfortable over a long period and my soles of my feet don’t feel as tired as when I use ordinary trainers.I would recommend these to people who will be walking distances or spending time on your feet.I find they are good for festivals and concerts.I don’t run in them but they to seem a tag heavy to be running shoes but the rubber sole and toe protection is very good on rough terrain. I even use them for gardening. The lacing system is very good but again if you like your lacing tight then traditional laces may be better. These compare to Solomon trail shoes that lace similar. The reason I swopped to adidas is because I don’t like big logos on the side which standout which Solomon seem to now favour on their all their latest shoes. Other than that there is nothing really much different.I do find the overall look not very inspiring so I go for the black or green where the swift logo is not full on. This is my only gripe with the trainer so my colour choice is limited.I would buy again simply for overall comfort and performance in wet conditions. I am on my second pair. The sole seems good and lasts a long time.I would try Solomon and adidas on as although similar you may find one make suits your feet better. I have fairly wide feet so I don’t think these would be good for narrow feet.

Good walking shoes
This is the third pair that I have bought. The first pair were for my son and since we share the same shoe size, I ended up using them a lot. I liked them so much, I decided to buy my own pair in 2020. The shoes were not as well made as the pair that I had bought my son, especially around the heel of the shoe, that on the original pair, was much stronger and substantial. I used them once and then did not use them for a while. I then used them three walks in fairly quick succession and by walk two I was hobbling and experienced the same problem on walk three. I then realised that not only was the heel poorly made, the stitching on the inside of the shoe was giving me a blister. I could feel a lump. I could try and cut it out but feared I could damage the structure the inner part of the shoe. But this is where Amazon is great. Even though I had purchased them a few months ago, I could still return them as a damaged item. I returned them and bought a third pair. The rear of the shoe is still not as substantial as the original pair that I bought for my son. Because of this, you always have to use a shoehorn or your finger to put them on. If you don't you would end up pushing the rear of the shoe down. But this pair is much better and I now realise that there was something fundamentally wrong with the manufacture of the last pair. Not just the stitching. The overall comfort. This pair is much better but my son's original ones without the Continental grip are a much better shoe. I tried to buy the original model but you cannot get it for love nor money.

Third Pair of Terrex
This is my third purchase of a pair of Adidas Terrex Swift Gore Tex shoes. First pair is around five years old and still going strong although very worn. I also have a pair of Terrix boots. This pair was purchased to replace the five year old shoes.I'm not a fan of Adidas shoes as I don't think they're consistent with the width of their trainers range so I usually go for Nike or Asics in trainers however, 30 years ago I purchased a pair of Adidas Gore Tex walking boots and I fell in love with them. They were perfect for hill walking so much so that I even blacked them up with boot polish and wore them on military field exercises whilst serving in the Army. Those boots finally gave up after 20 years of use! Yes, 20 years! So I gave Adidas another go with walking boots when I spotted the Terrex range fve years ago and again never looked back. These boots are comfortable. I usually take a size 9 and a half but go up one size for walking boots so I can comfortably wear thicker socks. These boots also have a new type of sole, a Continental rubber outsole and having walked around the garden today wearing them, this sole is very very comfortable walking on! And of course the shoe incorporates Gore Tex into the shoe lining, so keeps my toes dry and keeps the rain out. They also have the Adidas speed laces which are a great innovation and perfect for 'tying my laces' within seconds.Of course with any walking shoe/boot you need to walk them in first so don't purchase on a Friday and wear them on a Saturday to walk up Ben Nevis. That would be just silly and the blisters you'd get would be horrific!Very worthy purchase and well worth the money.
