Mary Kay Andrews has done it again with her poignant writing. Her characters absolutely pop off the page. I fell in love with each character almost immediately. This was the perfect book to pick up for our summer vacation--it was light, enjoyable, and hilarious. Thank you!

A great adventure set in Tybee and Savannah. If you have been there, you will really enjoy this book. It’s a page turner!

However, patience proves to be rewarding as the story gradually gathers momentum.As the plot evolves, the book takes an unexpected turn, thrusting the reader into a roller coaster ride of suspense and intrigue. The crime-solving aspect of the story is particularly well-crafted, with twists and turns that keep the reader guessing and eagerly turning the pages. Andrews skillfully weaves together various subplots and keeps the tension high throughout, making for an engaging and thrilling read.Unfortunately, the book's biggest shortcoming lies in its ending. After an intense and nail-biting journey, the conclusion felt rushed and abrupt. It seemed as though the author tried to tie up loose ends quickly, leaving some questions unanswered and certain plotlines unresolved. This sudden ending left me wanting more, as if the story had cut off before its natural conclusion.While the suspense in The Homewreckers definitely caught me off guard, the ending itself was somewhat predictable. The clues and hints sprinkled throughout the book made it fairly easy to foresee the resolution, which diminished the impact of the final reveal.Overall, The Homewreckers by Mary Kay Andrews is a book that starts slowly but eventually draws the reader in with its suspenseful and enthralling plot. Although the ending is disappointing and the resolution is somewhat predictable, the journey to get there is undeniably thrilling. If you enjoy renovation shows you will like this fun, light cosy mystery. Makes me want to visit Savannah for myself!

Back in summer of 2018 I was in a bookstore and a beautiful display of books by author Mary Kay Andrews was on display. I purchased High Tide Club, came home and placed it on my bookshelf, Covid hit in 2020 and finally June of 2022 I realized I had never read the book. OMG, what have I been missing. Ms. Andrews has a unique style in her books, she makes her characters real and you like or dislike them, she has a way of plotting a story that at times will make you laugh or cry. Since June this year, I’ve loved everything I’ve read, the entire Weezie and BeBe series, and now this new book Homewreckers.The story starts with twenty-five year old Hattie Kavanaugh working for Kavanaugh & Son, however, the son, Hattie’s husband has passed away due to a freak motorcycle accident. Hattie has always wanted to make this house special, so going against her father-in-law’s advice of “never love something that can’t love you back” she begins remodeling into a house that is a total money pit. When a Hollywood producer wants to stage a home renovation and Hattie is approached, you know you’re going to enjoy the book.This would make a great new series
