When we received the package we were worried because the box was heavily damaged and almost open, but to our surprise none of the contents were damaged. We took the hood out read the instructions and installed it immediately with ease - no need to bring anyone to do it if you know how to measure and use basic tools. The stainless flu, edges and black tempered glass are beautiful, and all the seams are aligned and perfect! The only thing I noticed is the side of the unit behind the stainless frame is actually powder coated black and not stainless, but I actually like it better. The chimney is stainless as shown. I chatted with Mueller help reps on their website and they are going ask management to update the pictures to be consistent. Some of the pictures don't show the grease cup along the bottom edge, which is included and I think makes the unit look even better. Also it does have a mesh intake and not the grate as shown in some pictures on the Mueller website. This will probably perform better to collect odor and grease, but it is the only thing I wish was different.We spent an hour with a Fotile rep./ store looking at JQG9009 and JQG7501 - both beautiful units but VERY expensive. For now the Mueller seems like a steel - just as nice looking and very well put together. As far as power and features go, it seems like a hybrid between the 9009 and the 7501 - not quite as loud and powerful sounding and it doesn't have the automatic switch like the 9009, but it seems slightly more powerful and quiet as the 7501. I equate sound with power as we did not actually test the Fotiles in the store with real steam or smoke - so I don't know but you can feel the sucking draft it creates. Ours at home works to extract the smoke effortlessly. We do a lot of Asian cooking and my wife also has an older Fotile model at her house in China. It was hard to convince her to get anything else but a Fotile, so time will tell if she actually is satisfied with the Mueller we purchased.For the price, I don't see how you could go wrong with the Mueller. I'm an architect and I really like the style of the unit, so when the kitchen is more complete I will revise the review and post pictures. One thing very curious......nowhere in the packaging, literature or on the unit itself can we find "Made in" markings......could it be China? Might it really be a Fotile in disguise?

Love this vent! It totally transformed our kitchen. Was initially a bit skeptical about buying a range vent online but after reviewing all the reviews, I went ahead and bought it. My contractor said it was a breeze to install. The vent has a wide range of power and I love that you get set it either to low, moderate or all the way to high. At low, it hums very quietly. At the highest intensity, you can hear the power like a big machine - doesn't bother me as it is somehow assurance that it is working and sucking in the heat, and smell and oil. Have been using it for a month now, and I am very happy with the look and the performance. Just had a party and got compliments on this from just about everyone of our guests :-).

It would seem the manufacturer is not based in the EU Austria as per the models manufacturer of origination. The unit failed after less than 1 year of use, the supplier refunded swiftly without delay i have procured another to see if it will perform better.

Nice and quiet hood , can’t ask a better price and product . It was challenging to make the decorative pipe cover fit to our higher ceiling.We used a nicely finished black shelf board for the base to the cover.The stainless extensions what I found on the market wasn’t the right size.

Love it , so fancy. Worth the money.

This range hood is awesome! It looks good but functions even better. The customer service was excellent also.
