Fun Idea, Flimsy Execution
I got this jigsaw puzzle race track for my grandkids, aged 3 and 5. The idea is fun, but the execution leaves a lot to be desired. The puzzle squares snap together easily, but they’re made of thin, rigid plastic. One of the kids tried to rearrange the track, and a piece cracked. A bit of superglue saved it, but it’s still a hassle. The cars require AAA batteries, which wasn’t mentioned on the box or in the non-existent instructions. There’s just a list of track parts, which isn’t very helpful. Also, one track piece was defective. The smooth area meant for a different section of the track was in the driving lane, causing the cars to drive off course (see picture). The track can easily break if someone steps on it, which is likely with little kids running around. The grandkids had fun briefly, but when the car hit the smooth area, it went off course, so they lost interest quickly. If the track piece hadn’t been messed up, I’d give it 4 stars. However, with the fragility of the pieces and the defective track, I can’t give it more than 2 stars.

some issues but when it works fun (for a while)
This reminds me of smaller sets we had that could be assembled together for a larger layout. As I remember though, they were not as fragile as this one. Once assembled, this works OK until the front guide wheel on the car hits an intersection and either reverses direction (which is cool), or jumps the track and ends up on the floor. The tracks are a little tough to snap together without breaking them, but then come apart as the car races around the track making for a high spot which also knocks the car out of the track - and on the floor again! The cars really move (with a fresh AAA battery-not included) but you do have to be careful when re-assembling the car as the wheels can rub on the body preventing them from turning. My biggest issue with these is that the tiny screw that holds the car together does not stay in place and can easily get lost - or end up where it doesn't belong! It seems to me that all toys for this age group should have screws that do not come out completely. Assembly was a little challenging but there are numbers de-bossed in the plastic to make it easier - once you understand the numbering scheme. You can make different layouts within reason. I like the concept, but it really needs some improvement.

Sturdy, well made toy
I got this toy for my grandson, and he loves it. It seems to be well made and sturdy. The track is made of strong plastic with colorful markings. The cars require triple A batteries. There is a tiny screwdriver that comes with the toy for installing a battery in each of the 3 cars. the screws are in very snug and will take a little extra effort to remove but they also are snug when screwed back in which is good. The puzzle pieces are hard to put together because of tight fittings but provides a strong platform for the cars. The directions are simple, but I think could have been better. Placing the batteries first before gifting to the child will make the play experience go smoother.
