Green Genie Filter, 48000 Litre

The green genie works very well now. After the initial 2 months of trying to get satisfaction with the company because the lid was at fault, my koi pond is now kept clear as the filter does a really good job compatible with the 10,000 LPH pump.

This product arrived promptly and we set it up quickly. Unfortunately to start with there didn't seem to be any effect so I ordered a new pump as well..within 3 days of fitting the new pump we could see fish! The flow regulator is connected to the lid which makes it a pain when you want to change the bulb or take the lid off for cleaning. This is a minor niggle though...it is worth it to have a clean pond!

Brilliant, after a day of being up and running we could see fish so clearly, we have to wait a week before we can activate the UV so things can only get better, the best ariation we have ever had in our pond ever, 3 outlets make it so much better for oxygen.

talks up a storm all you get is a ripple no good at all wast of money. don't even looks like the picture . sub standard rubbish

We can see all the fish now! Excellent filter. Worth every penny.

Good value

The product is quite flimsy but adequate in that sense. I ran the product for a week before turning light on but saw little improvement in water colour over the next 2 weeks. I then inspected lamp which means removing the main water feed and dismantle lid only to find lamps not working. On further inspection I found that the bulbs were just floating in the tubes and the tubes were not properly secured to lid, it looked as though someone had attached them to the lid with a single cable tie but they were not secure so the movement had pulled the connectors from the bulbs. Having reconnected I checked they were working and put it all back together but reattaching the pipe meant everything moved again and didn't leave me confident that the wires hadn't come loose again. After a few weeks my pond had only cleared slightly so I rechecked the bulbs but they were working. I was wary when I read on the label that this 48000 ltr unit will only keep 12000ltr ponds clear with high fish stocks but doesn't give any indication as to what that might mean in numbers. I am really disappointed with the results as I have a high pressure pump that the unit only just deals with on max flow. If you have a pond over 12000ltrs with a number of fish and it see's it's share of sun I would steer clear. For the money I would have expected a lot better all round.
