Easy to use
As it's so difficult to get in for a blood test at our GP, we tend to purchase these in order to keep an eye on Vit D levels. Don't give you a percentage but they tell you what your range is, i.e whether you're deficient or okay. Not as cheap or accurate as doctors but next best thing.

quick D test
Read the instructions carefully and then away you go. Really quite easy to push the little finger pricker, suck up the blood add it to the test rig then add the buffer and wait the correct time. Obviously not an accurate test but you can't overdose on vitamin D just add K2 if you are taking a lot.

Book a blood test with your GP...
I bought this kit over a month ago when I was experiencing very bad hair loss and had experienced cardiac problems, which can all be as a results of low vitamin D. I had been booked into my GP urgently, after waking up with symptoms of a possible oncoming heart attack. Having been tested for the more obvious imbalances including full blood count/iron levels, having an ECG and hospital referral and being told everything was OK, that my iron levels were "borderline" but I wasn't anaemic, I thought there was something that wasn't right. I googled online (as I was severely anaemic 4 years ago and had never experienced the extreme chest pains and other symptoms then) and discovered that Vitamin D can cause cardiac events and hair loss too, so I started taking Vitamin D, and ordered 2 of these tests. I used one and I found it very difficult to read the results due to the pink tones on the test result barely differing. From the results, it looked as though I was not deficient in Vitamin D. Fast forward to this week just gone. I decided, after a little while to ask my GP if I could be tested for Vitamin D, as I was losing my hair a lot still but not as severely as before I started taking Vitamin D tablets, and thought it best to get it officially tested. My vitamin D levels came back extremely low. While these tests can feel like a comfort to have to hand, this demonstrates the results weren't reliable. If in doubt, always go to your GP and ask for a blood test. It can be dangerous to rely on a home test. There is also very recent research indicating that low vitamin D levels can lead to anaemia too, so if your ferritin/iron levels are lower than they should be and you can't logically understand why (if diet has been consistent) then there is a possibility your Vitamin D levels may be low. I personaly now would not rely on these tests. It may just be that the test I used didn't perform as well as other peoples though. There is always that possibility.

Vitamin D level test kit
Good value for money and easy to use however the scale for reading your levels is not overly accurate. It depends on levels of faded line , a numbered scale would prove a more accurate result and comparison for prolonged testing.

Good little kit
Very simple and easy test to do. provides everything you need in the kit, enough for 2 tests., and it only takes 10 minutes to read the results. Very pleased with an affordable test kit, delivered in a couple of days and packaged well.

Very nicely presented
Well made, good value and easy to use but, as with all these types of at home kits, there is no way of knowing how accurate it really is. If I can persuade my GP to give me a test then I would have a reference point, but until then it's really just a rough guide I think.

Accuracy??
Not sure how accurate it is I take over 2000 ius and the result is deficient, my husband takes nothing and he is insufficient. However the tests are easy to do and understand
