Fronted by Pauline Murray, Penetration debuted in late '77 with the seminal "Don't Dictate" 45 and over the next two years issued two albums and five singles all of which are included on this 62 track set. Disc 1 is the Moving Targets album which hit #22 in the UK National Charts. Disc 2 is the Coming Up For Air LP, a National Chart #36 hit. The third disc features the rare 16 track Race Against Time "Official Bootleg" of demos and live tracks recorded during their time with Virgin Records. Disc 4 contains two previously unissued studio sessions recorded for the John Peel Show as well as a superb "In Concert" recorded for Radio 1 in the spring of 1979. The "Don't Dictate", "Firing Squad", "Life's A Gamble", "Danger Signs" and "Come In To The Open" singles are all featured. Detailed 20 page booklet contains informative sleeve notes by Cindy Stern plus pictures of all relevant singles sleeves.

AWESOME POST PUNK FROM 1978 TO 1981
i loved this band some 35 years back and it was a pleasure to get this cd box set as most of what penetration recorded in the few years they where together is all collected in this box, the band reminded me a bit of howard devotos magazine back in the day some what, the remastering on the cds have made them sound better then ever and i like the clam shellcase box, very compact and once again what a great package for the price.....these songs bring back great memories especially the on target album

Both albums,all the singles and b sides.Radio sessions and live concert recordings.The big bonus is the very early demo's with Gary Chaplin,9 tracks including 3 that were never released officially.These tracks came out on a bootleg release some years ago so it's great to have them here with everything else.The 3,duty free technology,In the future and Race against time are great and the surprise is that they never recorded these songs for official release.A must have for all Penetration fans.
