Insightful and practical
I ordered this book at the request of a friend and I wasn’t disappointed. The illustrations and their explanations were clear and concise. One of the reasons I gave this publication a five star rating for two reasons. First, the practicality of a confrontation is relayed into a training environment with a dummy (Bob). That is something missing from other martial art publications. Second, how the art relates to teaching self defense to children. Teaching children martial arts is an element for developing discipline, but kids who know how to use the arts as a means to keep themselves safe is where the rubber hits the road. Predators attack when they believe they have the upper hand. However, if kids know basic self-defense, they have a fighting chance. Thanks for keeping kinds in mind Sifu Rister and Alfred Huang.

boring, nothing much about the art.
This book is a well written description of a persons idea. It is not an actual book on a system. What few techniques are shown are beyond basic and un-worthy in any sport, defense, or real life situation. My advice is find an actual defense system that will focus on the student, not the writer vision of how great and deadly they think they or their art may be.

Gut aber etwas wenig Text
Inhaltlich sehr gut, man liest das Buch allerdings in etwa 30 Minuten durch. Die Bilder sind okay.
