Electric Bass Method Volume 1

Bought this to kickstart my bass chops and this book is a great place to start. I reached out to some musical colleagues about fingerings, and settled on an approach a little different than offered in this book. (Rather than 1 finger per fret spanning four frets, I have been using my pinky and ring finger as a single digit and spanning three frets to compensate for the large scale of the neck, for anyone who cares). Worked through this book in a few weeks and will be definitely buying its subsequent volume 2.

More theory and note recognition than I expected. CD wasn't included but I was directed to a website to obtain add'l info. If I can master this book I will be a long way down the road to learning to play bass.

Had this way way back when I first started playing but did understand the methods , now it is amazing to go thru

Good material for a beginner.

I learned from this book over twenty years ago, and find them (volume 1 and 2) easy to use for self-teaching; my nephew is learning now, so I bought him the set.

Great method book that has been around for a long time.

To the point and very easy to follow. A great book for a beginner!I have been working in it for a couple of weeks and can play along with guitar already.
