Polk Audio Atrium 4 Outdoor Speakers (Pair, Black)

These really are quite a remarkable pair of speakers when paired with a good quality amplifier! I originally powered them with a Fosi HT4S and they sounded ok but pretty rough in the midrange. Then I tried a Wiim Amp and they sounded much better, nice and refined and balanced but I just had a feeling they could go further. Then I bit the bullet and got a second hand Arcam SA10 and that really brought them to life! Amazing clarity and such great warmth from the Arcam. They are lacking in bass but as they’re the smallest in the range that’s to be expected. I’ve already decided to upgrade to the Atrium 6 and move the 4s to a quieter part of the garden. All in all a fantastic pair of speakers! Great build quality, fantastic sound and easy to fit. Power them with a good quality amplifier and you’re in for a real treat!

Installed in outdoor bar / kitchen. They’re under cover but I wouldn’t put a non outdoor rated speaker outside, even under cover. It isn’t just the rain, it’s the dew and air temp that’s can play havoc with this sort of stuff. Nice sound from the speakers. Perhaps the atrium 5’s would have been better for bass but you can’t knock the sound from these at all. Got them hooked up to a Douk audio amp via a Sonos connect. Sound is really lovely and the speakers are a nice quality.

I’ve got these mounted up outside and I’ve got great sound. I was nervous about how waterproof they would be but they’ve had no problems even after some incredibly heavy rain in London over the summer. They install easily with well thought out brackets that Mount quickly with the speakers clipping on easily. I think it’ll be very easy for me to bring them in over winter.

Purchased these to replace a cheap pair of outdoor speakers (around 10-15 years old) that were rusting and fairly quite (compared to the inside speakers). Whilst outdoors they are sheltered. As they are made from brass, aluminium, stainless steel and sort of plastic I purchased these so they should not rust and I hoped for a similar sound quality/volume to the two sets of speakers in the house, all powered by the same amplifier. Yes they look nice and the sound quality is pretty good but the volume is not that much better than the old cheaper speakers. I have to increase the amplifier volume when we are outside, for this reason I have reduced the rating to 4 stars, yes they are better than the old speakers, so I'm still pleased with them. Also very pleased with the Amazon customer support too. I was very careful when installing the speakers and they looked perfect in daylight, however in the evening when the lights are on, a small crease/dent is highlighted in one of the speakers grill. On contacting Amazon, there was no quibble, I could either have them replaced, return them or take the offer of a significant discount. As they are outside we decided to accept the discount, the after sales service was great.

Great looking, outdoor speakers, the sound quality is sufficient to get the party in full swing, easy to install.

For very compact outdoor speakers, they sound good. I am going to pair them with a subwoofer at some point as they can’t produce any low frequencies. Mounting was easy and fast. I would have liked to see some weatherproofing on the wiring terminals. Yet to see how they do over time, but have been working well in all the rain we have had recently.

I installed a pair of these last April on my garden pergola/deck area. They served their purpose, looked really good and sounded great during the many bbq's and garden parties we had. However. What I didn't account for was when I took them down today (bring in for winter), to my disappointment, one is full of water. Now, for an environmental 'outdoor' speaker to fill with water completely defies the point in having them! As stated, they obviously aren't for full outdoor use, as letting in water after 9 months of installation isn't exactly a fantastic quality to have.

Good outdoor speakers for the price. Sound quality I would say is 4 out of 5 taking all into consideration.

Very good sound quality for the price. Paired with a sub provide well balanced sound with a bit of eq. Without the sub the bass are a bit weak…

Whilst the box was not damaged the speaker grill on 1 speaker had a big dent. Good sound but disappointed that it was damaged.

This is my second set of Polk Audio outdoors speakers. My first pair are the Atrium 6s, which are amazing and produce very clear and accurate sound (in my humble opinion). Recognizing that the Atrium 4s are smaller, they still produce very good sound. The mounting system that both speakers use make them very easy to install and wire, and the Atrium 4s worked right out of the box with no fuss. The bass reproduction is good, but not at the same level as the Atrium 6s. Nevertheless, they are quite good at filling small to medium spaces, and they very effectively filled my lower patio area with quality sound. As an aside, these are standard speakers and are not powered so you will need an amplifier or receiver to power them. Both my Atrium 4s and 6s seem very well sealed against the weather elements and they are both holding up very well. I can definitely recommend the Atrium 4s for outdoor installations.

Se escuchan muy bien, son el reemplazo de mis bocinas antiguas para Atmos.

Las compré para ponerlas como surround en mi AVR, tal vez hasta estén sobradas para eso. Antes, las probé como Segunda Zona y me gustó el sonido; en algún momento sustituiré también mis surround traseras por este modelo. Las volvería a comprar para una segunda zona para ambientar el jardín o en el comedor.
