Most kitchen cabinets, flatpack and other furniture items are constructed from laminated chipboard, which in itself is generally fine – a cost effective method. However, the quality of chipboard can vary greatly (mostly in density). It is not uncommon for the hinge screws on the door or cabinet itself to loosen a little over time, and then be unable to be re-tightened.This is a good solution, and an ideal way of repairing without the need to replace. The benefit is two-fold, not just to enable plate-fixing to ‘fresh’ area of cabinet / door, but also to act as a (load) spreader plate, particularly where the door is quite weighty.The plates are stainless steel, with sufficient screws (they effectively act like self-tappers when fixing to the existing positions, the plate being securely fixed in place by the wider placed screws direct into the wood. Very effective.Overall, a good product, very handy to keep ready for if and when you might need. Decent value, particularly if you purchase the larger quantity packs.
