The Star stringed lights around each candle can be turned off if you prefer just the plain white candle effect but why? It's a gorgeous effect. The Star String does not twinkle they are steady on.Each clear acrylic "vase / "jar" is a bit wider at the base. It's not a straight cylinder shape, it flares at the bottom which adds an elegant and unique look overall.The flame has a very subtle flicker which gives the candle flame more of a steady swaying effect rather than flicker - its a BEAUTIFUL effect. If I stare at it I can see a subtle flicker. If I glance for a moment at it I get a gentle swaying flame effect. It's my eyes making that effect, but I love itIve read some negative reviews about the flickering but I love having candles with varying flame effects. I have several different battery candles grouped together so It would be boring to have all the candles flickering exactly alike.The yellow flame on these candles contrasts beautifully with the star String set that winds around each candle. They don't look like stars but the light effect does look like stars in the night sky.Beautiful, exquisite candles!!!Only negative and it is MINOR is it seems most battery candles are all equipped with the same remote. These are flat out the prettiest LED candles I have ever owned. And I have a LOT of LED candles. What elevates them above the standard flameless candle is the glass-look container and the way that the columns are wrapped in tiny lights. Every bit of these candles sparkles in the most lovely way.This set of 9 flameless candles comes well packaged in a box perfect for storing them safely when not in use. Also included are two remotes, so you can set these candles out of reach of pets and children without having to take them down to turn them on/off. The remote also controls whether the candles flicker, and the length of time they are glowing. They can be set to turn on at the same time each day for from 2-8 hours. They will automatically shut off after the chosen time period and then re-light at the same time the next day. Brilliant!Each candle requires two AA batteries, so having them all in a display is a pretty big commitment to battery use. But I use rechargeable batteries that seem to keep these going for a good long time.There are several heights of candle included in this set, which makes them perfect for mantel displays, table scapes, and illuminating holiday decorations. They add sparkle and elegance to any decor scheme. They would also make a thoughtful housewarming, 1st apartment, hostess, or birthday gift. At this price point they are an affordable choice as well. Highly recommended.

These candles look great in the dark. I especially like how you can light the wires separate from the flame. However, if you’re trying to impress someone, make sure the candles are high enough that they can’t pick one up and inspect it. They are extremely lightweight and cheaply made. If you drop one on a wooden floor, it will definitely break the plastic. Also, each takes two AA batteries. So if you want a set of three of them that’s six AA batteries. All in all, I’m happy with them, but I just wish they were made of better quality

I got these because I thought they looked different than normal flameless candles since these are inside a "glass" container and also have the fairly lights wrapped around them. I thought the "glass" container looks like plastic and not real glass so I was disappointed in that. The fairly lights looked nice and worked well. I put the mode on the remote control to "candle" and not "light" so that it would flicker but it does not flicker very much, you can hardly see it flicker. The remote control is like just about any standard flameless remote control and has buttons to turn it on and off, set the timer, set the brightness and choose the lighting mode. The brightness is good, you can see subtle differences in the brightness settings and I already discussed my disappointment with the flicker mode. Overall these are just okay for flameless candles, I had higher expectations for these.
