Good build quality. The main body is brushed stainless steel and the clear plastic part is made up of thick plastic. Feels heavy this could be due the the enclosed electric motor.Easy to use once you get a hang of opening and closing the 2 separate parts to pop in the batteries and the peppercorns. There is a small plastic knob on the base of the mill if fully turned clockwise it mills as fine as it gets and anti-clockwise for large chunky pieces of crushed pepper or somewhere inbetween depending on your preference. Easy to operate just depress the large button on the top of the mill.The only thing that concerns me is that it take x4 AAA batteries. As it needs so many batteries I imagine that it is power hungry and will get through these batteres very quickly

This electric salt mill has become a game-changer in our kitchen. It's generously sized and operates on batteries (do note it doesn't come with them, so keep that in mind when purchasing). Really been finding this salt grinder incredibly useful. I like the light that comes on to help you salt your food properly, and not end up with it on the floor or your leg because you were in the dark. I'm really not overjoyed by the fact these take four AAA batteries, I'll come back and update this review if i find the lifespan lacking. Compared to a hand grinder, this electric one really does knock it out of the park, I'm not biting into large salt crystals that somehow managed to make it through as this grinds it perfectly to a consistently small powdery snow of salt, it's a really nice difference to me!

Not only dose this look stylish it but it’s also got a good grinding mechanism that is well built meaning that it should last a long time The coarseness can be adjusted easily making it good to use from kitchen to table I like that it is a bit heavy it makes it feel very sturdy you will need 4 batteries that are not included

This battery powered pepper mill is great. It requires 4 x AAA battery cells to make it work and with a quick turn of the top there is access to install the batteries. Lower down there is also a quick turn to access the compartment where the pepper corns are placed, or rock salt for the salt grinder. It has a push button on the top to activate and that is what I like the best, as it can be used with one hand, instead of the manual type that requires two. It comes complete with a light, for that candle lit meal :D

The capacity of the grinder is smaller than I expected, but it does stop the contents going stale.The AAA battery requirement is also annoying, I initially tried some cheap Kodak alkaline batteries and it was very weak and wouldn't grind the plain black pepper that I had in it.I'd recommend some strong AAA rechargeable batteries to get the best use out of it, but other than that it feels well made and is easy to use and fairly easy to refill if you're careful not to spill.

The grinder looks good and has the addition of a little light in the bottom so that you can see the salt grains fall on to your food. The grinder does however need 4 AAA batteries to work and it's not clear how long they will last. When I look at what else is available, and given you would need two for both salt and pepper, I have to suggest that for a small amount more money (the price of a set of batteries?) you could have a pair of rechargable grinders that wouldn't need new batteries after a while. So from that perspective I don't feel these are good value and won't be buying the extra one to make a set with the free one.
