Pre de ProvencePrivate Collection Fragrant Candle - Eucalyptus and Mint, 8 ounce

This scent isn’t very strong and was not what I was looking for. I thought it would smell similar to the Aromatherapy version but I honestly don’t smell much from it. This was 40% cheaper than that but I wanted to try something new and it isn’t for me.

This review is for the Eucalyptus and Mint candle.Which smells faintly of dirt. Minty dirt, but all the same, its not a great smell.Luckily the smell is pretty light when burning, but my husband with his normal nose (as opposed to my super powered one) still commented that it's like picking mint plants.However, this does burn for an extraordinarily long time, and the glass is pretty thick, so it can be reused as a vase or something. Also it won't break easily. I'd certainly be inclined to look into other scents from this company, as the presentation is wonderful, and goes with any decoration.

The candle arrived in a small box with some air cushion, but the candle jar was shattered inside the candle box. I wasn’t going to mention this here because this is a ‘product review,’ not ‘packaging and delivery review.’ However, I thought the packaging design also has a flaw, which is why I mentioned the candle arriving broken. The visual design of the box is nice and pretty, yet it doesn’t have much protection on the top part of the candle. The box is very thin (it’s not cardboard, it’s just slightly thick paper) so it was imminent with all the tumbling during the transit between the warehouse and my mailbox. This might not be the case for all, yet the manufacturer should really reconsider more protective packaging design. Ok, enough with the shattered glass. How about the scent and the candle quality? Honestly, when I smelled the candle after opening the box, I did not like it at all. I know it was supposed to be minty, but I did not expect an unpleasant scent. However (however!!) to my surprise, lighting up the candle changed everything. The candle had very subtle aroma. It took a while to get the room filled with the scent and get noticed, but there was scent of floral mint. It was calming yet pleasant. I have always disliked strongly, heavily, and artificially scented candles. But this candle became my instant favorite. It was mood changing, and I like it so much now.Luckily, I found a small empty plant pot that this candle fits in perfectly. The original candle lost its visual elegance by hiding in a sort of ugly plant pot that my son got for free from neighbor’s yard sale leftover. Yet, it lasted its calming scent for a good long time.

The smell right out of the box is of a menthol sports cream. However, when you light it up, the crisp fresh scent of eucalyptus & mint is there. It's a pleasant scent too. I first lit this candle in a larger room and could not really smell it unless I was close to it. I switched to the bathroom (mine is small) and the scent filled the room. The soy wax burns clean and straight down. No bevels in the middle. The white color fits any decor.

It burns great but the smell is just not for me. My husband likes it tho. I really love this brand tho and I love their soaps and perhaps I would like a different flavor but this one I cant even burn, it is not for me.

This is a candle that is white and comes in a clear glass jar. It is an 8 oz candle.The smell of the candle is quite rich in its scent. The candle is of excellent quality and quickly fills up a room with its smell of eucalyptus and mint.I feel that the mint is very strong so for those who love mint this is an excellent pick for you. Th eucalyptus is a bit more subtle but is very invigorating to have in the air.I would have loved to try the other smells as this one is not a personal preference.The candle is of excellent quality and quickly fills up a room with its fragrance.The candle is a bit pricy as it is close to $20 by then again this candle is to have a burn time of 45 hours.

This Pre de Provence Private Collection candle must really be a 40-hour candle since I have burned it about 3 hours a day since it arrived (that's how long I give myself to work on the computer) and I still have some left....maybe another 3 hours.This scent is not as strong as I would like as the smell of mint and of eucalyptus are two of my favorites. This is under $18 and I have paid much higher for ones that have a strong odor. This is a clean burning candle and you can re-use it by sticking a smaller one down in it. The wick burns evenly and I like that.So, based on all pluses and no negatives, I shall look for other scents cause that would sense.

This is a good quality candle but I couldnt handle the smell. I got the eucalyptus and mint and it is so harsh. It has a very medicinal smell to it

I was so looking forward to getting a eucalyptus/mint scented candle (I love those scents but cant usually find them) and was horribly disappointed to find it smells more like wet dirt and old wax! Definitely the last time I but a scented candle on line (not being able to smell it before purchase) Seeing so many reviews about how wonderful these candles smell, I'm not sure if none of them had chosen this scent, or maybe mine is just defective? DEFINITELY does NOT smell like eucalyptus or mint though!
