I really enjoyed this book! Mr Lall has woven a tale from his own family history. Amid the chaos of world war and India's partition, his grandfather remains true to his humble principles, against seemingly insurmountable odds, and emerges victorious. Everyone wishes their family had such an account in their own history. The reverence for his family and their accomplishments was evident in every word.

Amazing book that surprises you by being not only about the law, but more so about the story behind it. Looking forward to more written work from the senior advocate with a penchant for storytelling!

I was pleasantly surprised by the book. Picked it at a whim and was totally engrossed. Rare and adventure filled story.

Very few books make a time like the partition come alive for us. It is such an important part of being an Indian. Loved the way the author has woven historical events into a personal narrative. Definitely worth reading especially for those who have there own personal accounts of an epochal event.

A great read ,helped to understand the british civil law and our partition history . Loved the detailed research and timeline . Mr chander lall has created a connect for us with his father and grandfather. Thank you for a fascinating read .

An extremely insightful and interesting read. Through his personal experiences and family history, the author not only creates a suspenseful story, but also educates the readers regarding the dreadful moments of partition and Article 311 of the Indian Constitution. All in all, a must read for anyone interested in a gripping story.

A well researched and simple story which takes you in the journey of justice. A story of an ICS officer whose perseverance and determination against the might of British Empire culminates in success of justice. Will recommend all to read this book.
