I have been using these in the pool for doing my own type of resistance exercises. They are not weights and are buoyant. I have arthritis in my hands, but particularly in my thumb joints. The grip on these is very comfortable. For those times when fatigue sets in to my hands, I don't use the thumb hole. I simply rest my straightened thumb across the foam (like making a fist), and it still makes a firm and usable grip during water exercise. Other than my grip, I'm in decent shape and these give a great arm and core workout, and I also use them (one or two at a time) as a swimming kickboard. These are multi-use items that I like more each time I devise a new exercise with them. I use the handles to attach them to the outside of my swim back, so they take up no interior room (though they are not too large and bulky, anyway). They don't seem to soak up water, dry off quickly, and can be easily wiped clean if needed. They are firm, and I have have no problem with them bending or wobbling when doing upward, downward or sideways motions.

Bought for aqua aerobics. They are great, you really feel you have worked out. Highly recommend.

Work well use together or seperate

Excellent resistance items for use in the pool. Great for developing arm muscles and strength. Very durable and lightweight but are well suited for providing great resistance in the water. Super!

These are lightweight and offer water resistance. The slot for your hand is wide enough but the foam part you hold on to seems to bend with the water resistance. Not sure how long that narrow part of these will last that's why I rated it 4 stars. Well made, easy to transport to the pool, dry fast. Just not a lot of resistance because the foam is light weight.
