This is my go to for pack raft knife. The knife is very sharp, can cut any webbing, rope, line, or any entanglement issue that should arise on the water. Its not a pointy blade so I'm less likely to pop my packraft boat. I'm glad I purchased this knife.

I carry the non serrated version with me when I run. It’s extremely sharp and easy to wield.

We do time trials on rescue knives to see how fast they can cut through standard climbing rope. The Bear Claw is one of the few that do so in under a second which is optimal. Many take between 30 - 60 seconds which is too long in an emergency.

I was expecting the quality of the sheath to match the quality of the knife and boy was I wrong! It broke, popped off my pfd, and sank like a stone. Never even got to try the knife so I’m only reviewing the sheath I guess, but you’re better off with an NRS knife if you’re planning on using this for whitewater.

This small knife will be used as a back up knife. When the knife is deployed for use the sheath will come out with the knife and then you can deploy the knife for it's intended purpose. It's an EDC, but to be used only when you have no other knife to use. Very well made.

My son is a white water rafting guide. He saved the girls life with this knife. Enough said.
