Murder, She Wrote: Murder Backstage

Fun and Satisfying
These novels all have much more drawn-out plots than the one hour TV shows so can become a bit complicated. If you concentrate on which character is which you'll be okay. The plot is complicated but not too much. There is a lot of what I assume are real locales in Canada. Made me want to visit.

A good Murder Mystery
No dislikes for these books. Interesting and wife has read everyone of them in the series.

Very difficult to finish.
This particular story was extremely tiring. The murder didn't make sense, and neither did most of the characters. I have read every book in the series, by all the authors. I like to re-read them from time to time. I don't think that will be the case with this story. The law enforcement seems to "stand back" and let Jessica and her cousin solve a murder, which none of the characters in the story seem to be interested in. Seth loses a valuable pen which is mentioned several times, and when Jessica retrieves it from the "criminals" she puts it in her purse (and unless I missed it due to the tedious reading) she never gives it back to Seth? The depiction of Edmonton and the food was interesting.
