Ok ish film if you are into your shaky camera type films
The cast of Project X is excellent, with standout performances from Thomas Mann as the lead character, Costa, and Oliver Cooper as his best friend, JB. The chemistry between the cast members is evident, and they all deliver their lines with perfect timing and humor. The film is not without its flaws, however. The plot is thin, and the characters are not fully fleshed out, which may leave some viewers feeling disconnected from the story. Additionally, the film has been criticized for promoting reckless behaviour and excessive partying, which may not be suitable for all audiences.Overall, Project X is an entertaining and fun film that will appeal to anyone who enjoys raunchy comedies and wild party scenes. It's not a film for everyone, but if you're in the mood for some mindless fun and laughs, then this film is definitely worth checking out.

X marks the spot
I didn't actually get why this film was called `Project X' - I must have popped out the room to make a cup of tea of something, but, no matter, I think I understood the rest of the film pretty well.Every few months a story comes on the news about a party that was `accidentally' posted on some social networking site or other then spiralled out of control. Well, Project X is basically telling that story. It does it from a `first person perspective' (think Blair Witch just with even more bodily fluids and a proper ending) where all footage is either filmed on handheld camera, or someone's cameraphone. It follows the exploits of three high school boys who try and bump up their popularity by throwing a `wild' party. And they do just that. The two thousand guests who attend end up being the least of their problems compared to flamethrowers and riot police - you'll have to watch it to find out.I found it worth a watch. Yes, you have to put up with plenty of annoying teenagers and some people have said that it's `pro-drug taking' so you can probably guess some of the things they get up to.Apparently the people who made it had something to do with The Hangover. Well, I didn't find it half as funny as The Hangover, but I didn't really think it was supposed to be a straight out comedy. It's more a warning of the dangers of social networking (not to mention trusting your teenage kids with your house when you go away from the weekend).Project X will probably play best with teenagers who can relate to it, but if you're into those cringeworthy `jackass' type shows, you may enjoy it too.

Prequel Needed!
This was a lot of fun. It was noisy, fast moving embarrassing in places and too slow to start. Plot is important even in what was essentially an extended music video.I'm a middle aged man but I vaguely remember parties from my youth. The reality was less booze, more drugs, less sex, less mayhem and less full on adrenalin but that was in the eighties man. I have no idea whether the current generation party like that or not. If they do, good luck to 'em.... they'll need it.Oh the best line in the whole film was the one referring to what happened to the cameraman... now THAT is a film I wanna see.

Sheer Anarchy but brilliant
One of the best films I've watched which draws comparisons Super Bad. The main character is the teen lad everyone wants to be (apart from the clean-up!). The sheer anarchy was what made me love this film so much as it was such a juxtaposition to the quiet suburban neighbourhood where the residents complain about taking the trash out after 11pm. The soundtrack was superb with the music fitting the scenes perfectly but had tracks that are in popular culture. All in all a great film for the teens/20s as the elder viewers may just see the mess made!PS Odd rating as that wasn't an 18 in my view, fair enough there was brief moments of nudity and strong language but to make that an 18 reduces the demographic that it is obviously aimed at (after all it's about a 16 year old's birthday party).

Great party movie!
I loved this movie. The party is well filmed and the performances of all the cast are excellent. The story depicts the birthday party that Thomas (Thomas Mann) arranges while his parents are away. Thomas is the regular unnoticed child at school so you can imagine, what kind of party he has in mind with his friend Costa (Oliver Cooper) at the helm of arranging things. He wants to be cool and be popular with girls. (Spoiler) This is your classic party that blows up into something amazing then the horror of a party gone wrong and how society reacts, we're talking SWAT teams with riot gear, burning neighbourhoods and crazy midgets (end of spoiler) PROJECT X is an excellent movie and well worth watching, its a perfect Friday night popcorn treat.
