Deep, rich flavor! When I started buying organic cocoa locally a year or so ago, I had trouble finding ones that tasted right. They were somewhat flat and mild in taste, and even if I used twice the amount called for, I could never get the right tones, just too much bitterness without the right flavor. I finally decided that maybe it was the pesticides that had made the stronger flavor and I settled with the least objectionable organic cocoa at Whole Foods. Not so!! I was lying on the couch with a fever one day with no strength other than to browse the internet (a dangerous and expensive thing when you land here on Amazon and see so many things you "need"!) I saw this cocoa and read the reviews. Some seemed to think the flavor wasn't all that grand, but others loved it. I figured the ones that didn't like it all that well had discovered what I had about organic cocoa. The price was SOOOOO much better than what I was buying - even on sale! - that I figured I would jump in and buy a 5 lb bag hoping the high reviews were actually correct. I am so glad I did! I was paying over $8 for a half a pound when it wasn't on sale. This is $6 for a whole pound!! I opened the bag up today and put it in a very large jar and a couple of smaller ones (if you do this, put the jar in your sink - it made my klutzy transfer a snap to clean up.) The smaller jars are great for easier regular use and I refill one when it is depleted. I'm glad I had planned on the transfer, because the ONLY THING I DIDN'T LIKE ABOUT THIS PURCHASE (in caps so people can quickly see it) is the bag it comes in does not zip back up particularly well. I would have been devastated to have it ruined by damp air. At the very least, plan on several ziplock bags to store it in if you get the 5 lb bag. I didn't knock a star off for this, because the cocoa is JUST THAT GOOD. I dipped my finger in some of the spilled cocoa powder and tasted it as I was making some hot cocoa. I knew immediately that this was a spectacular purchase! The flavor was just right! Bitter, of course, as unsweetened cocoa should be, but intensely flavorful with actually just a hint of sweet! The hot cocoa was so delicious. It left a pleasant lingering chocolate taste after it was gone. Do yourself a favor and ditch all the other cocoas you have been buying. Get this one. Mmmmm. I think I'll go make another cup.....

Definitely adds to the flavor of drinks, rich , tasty

I am very pleased with this product. My wife complained that the taste is weak which is a good sign because roasting the beans enhances the flavor but also kills some of the benefits of the raw superfood.
