The cookbook you could use every day and feel like a great cook!
Having been on the Knife Skills course and Italian Cookery Course at Waitrose, I decided to buy this book and I haven't stopped using it since. Well laid out, useful for beginners and everyday cooks and contain essential basics. Simple to follow instructions on how to fillet fish (which are a lot easier to do than you think as long as you have a good filleting knife) and joint a chicken.As as long as you have the ingredients, you can very quickly create the yummy dishes for lunch or dinner and there are even suggestions for alternatives. Yesterday, I made the fluffiest gnocci in sage butter (I've previously hated gnocci as its always been stoggy). Today, I quickly made the pan fried king prawns with mango salsa for lunch, added a few extra salad leaves and herbs that I needed to use up (coriander and basil)and hey presto, an absolutely delicious and healthy lunch I would have happily paid good money for in a restaurant!If you are an expert cook, this will be too simple for you, but if you are like the rest of us who don't have much time, rarely cook from scratch and always the same dishes, you will love it. I'm going on a self catering holiday and its the only cook book I will need!
