Frontier Natural Products Lemon Peel, Og, Granules, 1.7 Ounce

Got this granulated lemon peel to recreate an overpriced herbal tea mix that also contained licorice root (which can have side effects). Frontier Lemon Peel is potent, pungent, and perfect.When I was comparing granulated lemon peel from various brands, reviewers described many as weak or lacking in flavor. This jar is redolent of lemon and just one or two grains pack a punch. I have blended it with the herbal mix and other teas (iced black, etc), and it is lovely, adding a lemony note with minimal acidity. Also used it in place of fresh zest in blueberry muffins and it was perfect. I plan to try adding it to the simple syrup base for homemade lemonade whenever the summer reaches that point.I wasn’t sure whether I needed this ingredient to be organic, but lemons often seem to have a waxy coating on the peel—which could be natural, I don’t know. Regardless, I wanted to get as much real peel and the least amount of filler possible. Frontier is great, and I would definitely buy more, but I don’t think I’ll need to until I run into shelf life limitations. Less is more with these granules.

Best price - online or in the store. Couldn't find it in-store. This one is larger size at a better price than any I could find. Gotta have it for my fresh, home-made blueberry muffins!

Pucker up - this lemon zest is full of flavor! My first use was to rub on our catch of stripped bass as I sealed them for freezing. Kept a batch and poached them with only this lemon zest and it was perfectly delicious. Second use is a quick lemon sorbet using this zest and a finish of concentrated lemon juice. Prep time was 5 minutes (a great time saver of grating 4 lemons) and the outcome was excellent! Next will be lemon chicken … I have plenty left in this bottle of lemon zest and many more recipes for it!

My family loves my cheesecake but I hate zesting the lemon that's required. It leaves me with a lemon that I may or may not have a use for.. This product works just as well as fresh and my family will get cheesecake more often as long as I have it on the shelf. I assume it will probably work just as well for other recipes as long as there is some liquid to reconstitute it.

This is perfect for when you don't have a fresh lemon, you can use it in all kinds of cooking applications desserts and cookies and meats and marinades. Highly recommended product at a great price.
