Solid single piece, 34mm aircraft-aluminum tube provides water, fog, and shockproof protection against hard knocks and impacts when racing between stations. Smooth, throw-lever zoom control. Robust turrets with a distinct, tactile feel and an EBR-7C to provide fast ranging and windage corrections. EBR-7C (MOA or MRAD) Reticle A versatile reticle that fits comfortably in the hands of all users. First Focal Plane: Subtensions remain accurate at any magnification. Fine Holdover Dots: For fast wind and elevation holdovers. Fine Center Dot: Precise aiming; aids in establishing a perfect zero. Fine Subtensions Along Top of Horizontal Axis: 1 MOA/0.2 MRAD for refined wind holds. Heavy Markings Along Bottom of Horizontal Axis: 2 MOA/0.5 MRAD for engaging moving targets on low magnification. To set the RevStop Zero System and index the Elevation Turret after final sight-in 1. While firmly holding the turret knob, loosen and remove the turret cap and turret dial using the included tool. Reinstall the dial, lining up the “0” mark with the reference line on the scope body. 4. Reinstall the center turret cap. Note: Installing the RevStop ring is recommended, but not required to operate the scope. The elevation turret can still be indexed to zero after sight-in even if the RevStop ring is not installed. Using the Riflescope Magnification Adjustment The Magnification Adjustment Ring is used to change the riflescope’s “power.” The Venom 3-15x44 FFP riflescopes are variable powered optics with a 5x optical design. To adjust your optic’s magnification, rotate the Magnification Adjustment Ring clockwise, or counterclockwise, to increase or decrease the magnification to your desired level. Ocular Focus – Fast-Focus Eyepiece The ocular focus is typically a one-time adjustment used to focus the reticle for maximum sharpness. This adjustment is slightly different for every user. A clearly focused reticle is a critical component for accuracy. When setting up a scope, this should be the first adjustment you make and should only need to be changed from user to user, or if your eyesight changes over time. Turret Adjustments Use turrets to adjust the point of impact. The Venom 3-15x44 FFP riflescopes use either 1/4 MOA or .1 MRAD turret adjustments on both the Windage and Elevation Turrets. Each click will move the point of impact roughly .25" at 100 yards for MOA, and .36" at 100 yards for MRAD. The turret on the top of the riflescope is the Elevation Turret, which is used to adjust the point of impact up and down. The turret on the right-hand side of the riflescope is the Windage Turret and is used to adjust the point of impact left and right. Parallax Adjustment The Venom 3-15x44 FFP riflescopes come equipped with a Parallax Adjustment Knob located on the left-hand side of the turret housing. When the parallax is properly adjusted, the user should experience no parallax error. Dial the Parallax Adjustment Knob until the target image is as sharp as possible. The yardage numbers on the knob should be used as general reference points only. Check for parallax error by moving your head up, down, left, and right. The parallax is correct if there is no apparent shift between the reticle and the target image. If you notice any shift, adjust the Parallax Adjustment Knob slightly until all shift is eliminated. The 34mm tube provides a generous amount of adjustment travel, which is essential when you start stretching out toward 1,000 yards. I found the glass clarity to be surprisingly sharp even at the higher end of the 25x magnification, with very little distortion around the edges. The EBR-7C reticle is well-designed and remains proportional to the target as you zoom, making holdovers and ranging much more intuitive. The RevStop Zero System is a huge plus, as it allows for a quick and reliable return to zero after you’ve been dialing for different distances. The included throw lever is a nice touch and makes magnification changes smooth and fast, which is helpful during timed stages or dynamic shooting. While the scope is on the heavier side, that weight contributes to a very solid and durable feel that can clearly handle heavy recoil.
