I now have three pairs of this boot and love them all. My favorite surprisingly is the black suede. I put them on and they felt like I'd hade them for forever. There was no break in period, no getting used to the feel of them. They felt instantly like they'd been in my closet for forever. Lets be honest, they aren't the prettiest boot. They are kind of ugly. But, they are pretty versatile and look great with business casual at the office and more casual day wear. This portion of the review is specific to the black suede. The height of the sole means I'm not super concerned with getting them too wet and have been wearing them in the spring here in Alaska, so lots of mud and snow, and puddles and have seen not sign of water damage to them. So I'm not even thinking I'll waterproof them. May live to regret that, but we'll see. The black suede is deep and rich and is so soft to the touch. So far, I've been able to brush off any dirt or anything I've gotten on them. I ordered a 13 wide and it is a very spacious wide fit. I don't think you'll necessarily need to size down or anything, but if you run squarely between a wide and a regular width you might want to get a regular and see how those fit. I ordered several other colors and materials and these are the most comfortable right out of the box, the brown waxed had a break in period, the tan suede will also need a little breaking in time, and the black waxed I ordered were like a regular width when I ordered a wide width.

I've been wearing clarks since I was 14 or 15. I had a poster of my favorite band when I was in 8th grade. It was Deftones poster and Chino is wearing clarks. He was my idol as a kid and I loved his style. Several years later I got into clarks again while in college. And now I again wear my clarks proudly. My point is that they are timeless and not a trend. Classic style and amazing comfort. I bought a 12 and there's plenty of room. I probably could have got 11½ but I am happy I didn't go too big and get 13s. These tend to run big so don't size up. If anything, go ½ size down.
