Motorized VHS-C to VHS Cassette Adapter Best Way to Do It!
I returned a cheap, mechanical VHS-C to VHS adapter after it tore a prized family videotape. That's why they are so cheap to buy. A motorized unit is the only way to play a VHS-C in a VHS player for those that still have one or need to convert a tape to DVD. You slide the switch to the open position, the door opens, you drop the VHS-C cassette in, the motor drive takes over and you insert it in your VHS player. When completed, you slide the switch, the door pops open, the VHS-C cassette tape is re-seated and you push the VHS-C cassette out with your finger. The motorized case is much sturdier that the mechanical type as well. Unboxed but with the original warranty, this is well worth the price.

VHS-C Adapter
I don't know what all the fuss is from everyone on this product. If you have ancient Compact VHS (VHS-C) tapes and need to play them, you need this adapter. It works fine and is idiot-proof. Put a battery in, open the cover, insert your VHS-C tape, close the cover, let it do it's thing for a few seconds (moving the tape to the proper position automatically) and put into your VCR.I would suggest making copies of your tapes to DVD ASAP, because I would not rely on this as a long term solution to watch your memories over and over. I think the whole concept is kind of silly, but this is 1980's technology so what do you expect.

Worth buying....sort of.
I ordered this as a gift for a family member, paying the full price for the "new" item (as I would prefer to buy new rather than used on this type of product). I got the adapter quickly, which was great. Upon opening the package, however, it was a pre-opened package that was very coarsly taped back together and horrible looking. It looked like the worst thing you could ever try to return to a store. The product did work, as advertised, which was a plus...but had I known it was not a new item I would not have paid the new item price and nor would I have bought it and given it as a gift. Please advertise your products accurately! A new item is not an item that is in torn up packaging and scotch tape!

Broke some of mine VHS-C
The VHS-C tapes i had got tangled up in this thing and had to cut and tape them together again. If you have something really really important i would not get this. It did work a few times pretty good.

Cassette adaptor
I did not realize that not all vcr's played this adapter. I had an old one and tried to play some home movies and discovered that my old one wouldn't work any more. So I ordered this one and One of my players barely plays it for me. I am going to transfer all my videos to DVD's.. I hope they work out. The old one used to work like a regular video so I don't know what happened.

Works Great
Installed a AA battery, inserted my VHS-C tape, closed the cover, and the Dynex Video Cassett Adapter did the rest. So far this adapter is working perfectly and I had absolutely no difficulty at all inserting the VHS-C tape into this device.

I was worried for no reason!
I read many a horror story about VHS adaptors for VHS-C tapes ruining the tape, but this product proved to work exactly as advertised. I had the unenviable task of converting 30 VHS-C home movies my in-laws had to DVD, and everything worked perfectly using the Dynex. I highly recommend this to everyone!
