Very nice headset, well designed
I purchased several sets for use at work in my various labs. They are quite handy for fine wire soldering, small parts assemblies and the like. Everyone on my team likes them. The LED mount has two power settings and can be tilted to stay focused on your work area. The optical clarity is fine for something like this. Not as good as you would get from high quality ground glass or quartz lenses but this set only costs $30, not hundreds of dollars.I rarely use them at greater than 5X, usually 2 or 2.5X magnification, but I have worked at 7X once or twice. As the magnification increases the focal point decreases, meaning the work must be closer to your face. This is basic physics but can make working at very high mag cumbersome. There is a small amount of focus adjustment; the lenses ride on a cogged rail that cam move ~3/4". The lenses store in a plastic tray and as long as you are careful when handling them they should last for years. They are so popular at work I've been asked to order a few more sets. I even bought a set for my wife and I to use for arts/crafts at home!

I had to return it
First off...let me begin by saying that I have a form of Macular Degeneration called Star-Gardts. My central vision is gone in my left eye and half gone in my right eye. I needed something that had a very bright light and super strong magnification all in one item. I own a home based business and some of my products require tiny eye hooks and tiny lobster claws, etc. This device could've worked out in both of those criteria's. The issues I had were, although thie product comes with 4 or 5 various magnification strength lenses. After each use my eye sight was extra blurry and oddly enough it was more concentrated in my left eye that has no central vision. So that was pretty uncomfortable until my vision went back to "normal". My second issue was the fit. It's sort of lightweight. This is my first time using something you where on your head so I have nothing to compare it too but the helmet became very un-omfortable for me. If I adjusted the band to fit snuggly it was just too tight and felt like it was digging into my forehead....even tho there is a cushion pad for your forehead. When I tried to loosed the band just a tad, then it wouldn't stay in place and I kept having to adjust it. That's why I gave this item 4 stars. Needless to say I had to return it as I would never be able to use it.

Fit and comfort
I like the different lenses that magnify what I’m working on and the unit fits well because it is adjustable. I use it when I’m doing wood carving projects, especially the fine details.

Great for miniature painting
Great product, the lights are great for seeing what you’re working on, and having a second attachment for a 2nd magnifier makes it easy to see smaller details

Work great . . . once you get the right lens in
Works fine for me. Frees up the hands and allows you to clearly focus on getting the task done.

This light-up magnifying head unit is good in a pinch...
I find the unit uncomfortable to wear, because it is front heavy which causes it to slide down my forehead if I move too much. Additionally, it starts to loosen itself after about 20 minutes of use. (I use it for diamond painting and can spend hours on my projects.) The battery life for the light is short and the light is not very bright. To be fair, the batteries were not Duracell or Energizer, so that may have been a factor on the poor performance in these areas. It was easy to change the magnifying strength, and another feature I liked was the sliding capability of the lens holder. It shifts forward and back to suit your need. The unit gets the job done but not comfortably or conveniently.

The best I've tried!
Love my new geek goggles! As I get older it's gotten more difficult to see details when soldering. Gone are the days I can read the part number off a grain of sand sized component on a circuit board without a little help. Recently I have had two cheap headset magnifiers. One headband and one eye-glass type. The headband was too loose all the time and uncomfortable. The eyeglass pair had an LED light and worked OK but the lenses fell off super easy so I had to glue one on. Later one of the arms busted off so I glued it... then it busted off right next to where I glued it so I glued it more and added supports... but it broke again. So, I tried this larger head mount. Love it! It's way more comfortable than the others I've tried and has plenty of easy to use adjustments. I can get it to fix comfortably and tight on my HUGE head (I can never find a hat that fits) It has double lenses so I put a low power magnifier that I use most of the time and that makes it easier to see a larger work area. Then I can flip down the 2nd lens if I need a close look at something. And if I have to go crazy I can flip down the 3rd little magnifier ring for the right eye. The entire eye piece can flip up and out of the way without taking it off my head. The LED has a single button OFF - LOW - HIGH - OFF. I wish it just had OFF-HIGH. I don't need to conserve battery for a low power LED and that makes it harder to turn on and off. I also wish the LED had a built in auto-shut off timer of say 20 minutes. I haven't forgotten to turn this one off YET but I used to constantly forget to turn off my eye-glass style headset and kill the batteries.
