Loaded with great historical insights
Andy Adams wrote from personal experience of driving cattle from Texas to Montana and The Outlet is one of the most authentic stories you'll ever read about a cattle drive in the 1880s.I discovered Andy's writing last year and am in the process of reading everything of his that I can find.

Andy Adams was a great story teller. Too bad he wrote so few Westerns. I have them all and The Log of a Cowboy is my favorite, with Read Anthony next and Wells Brothers, then The Outlet

Super Western first person account of the western cattle drives and the men involved wih them.
I like this author very much. The tales are fun and exciting of a time when men were men and life was tough for them and their families.
