The Telegraph Killer Sudoku 1 (The Telegraph Puzzle Books)

I expected this Telegraph book of Killer Sudoku puzzles to be of a similar standard to the Times books but it's certainly not. Having completed two of the so-called "Diabolical Puzzles" quickly It's clearly meant for beginners and should be descired as such. The Times puzzles can be extremely challenging which means finishing them is most enjoyable.

Having a book full of killer puzzles is my idea of heaven. There is a great variety of levels through the book and, interestingly, I have found some of the ones labelled as 'diabolical' easier than the 'moderates.'My only complaint is that for the first 10 to 15 puzzles it was easier to tear out the puzzle page from the book than to try and do them while holding back the rest of the book. Now I am doing them in the book and in pencil so I can erase them and do again one day, or at least until the next compilation comes out.

Brilliant as always.......but I wish there was a Telegraph book of just the diabolical ones! That's why I also bought the German version. They are beyond diabolical!

I'm up to puzzle 130 (tough) and I can still do most. Quite rewarding this because the Times Killer books get too tough too quickly for me. Assuming I stop at 151, where the Diabolical start, then I feel I have had really good value from this book.

Nicely graded puzzles for the beginner to learn from and the improver to improve from.
