propane range/oven
delivery companies do not want to support less than 250 tanks here. also don't want to support if you only cook with propane. this was a perfect solution for us as it is very portable for me to take it for refills. so far it's working great.

Hog 100lb propane tank
I use this in place of the large rental tank from amerigas. On first fill it took 24.9 gallons or about $120. That amount will last me 6 months. The house heater really is the gas hog being a Coleman double wide mobile home.Using the heater alone will mean monthly refills but I can handle that. This tank cost more than any other 100lb tank but it has a built in and accurate fuel gauge plus it is its own dolly or has wheels and two handles. I loaded it full by myself onto a high pickup. I added some wheels so I can roll it while in a horizontal position at the upper handle. This tank also can be used upright or laid down and the gauge works both ways. It has a "pol" valve or "pres-o-lite valve. I would have preferred a multi valve but this one is fine. I really wanted the fuel gauge so I can see at a glance how much fuel I'm using. Those screw in between gauges are ok but not accurate. I have one currently on a 20lb tank and it reads different for the same amount depending on temperature. So I'm real pleased with my built in gauge on the "Hog".

Great product, easy to move
This is a great product. Filled with no issues, can haul horizontal and unload myself from my truck bed. I do wish they sold covers for this. Would be great since stored outdoors

A bit expensive
The wheeled unit is a plus because a full tank is heavy to get around

The Real Info
First, this tank is designed to hold 80 pounds, or about 19-1/2 gallons. Final weight when filled should be 155 pounds. That's straight from the manufacturer, and a well known rule in the propane industry. It comes with POL valve installed. POL valves do not fit your typical BBQ, you will need an adapter or a hose with POL - QCC1 type. Also note that POL valves do not have a check valve like the ones on smaller tanks, and if you do not close the valve all the way, propane will escape. There is no OPD, or Overfill Protection Device. Technically you can overfill the tank, which can be dangerous. There is a liquid bleed valve on the main valve body that you can use to check the level and bleed off any overfill - instructions are right on the tank. This tank is not pre-purged. The "mystery gas" that is in the tank is just clean dry air. It is meant to create a slight positive pressure so that any minor leak - like from a valve unintentionaly left cracked - will not pull in moisture laden air.Note that this is NOT just an "overpriced tank with wheels" as one another reviewer noted, it is made to operate vertically or horizontally, which you can not do with the standard FlameKing 100# tank (which I also own). Moving this tank around is ridiculously easy compared to the other one.Remember that this tank can not be safely transported horzontally, even though it can be used horizontally. That too is printed right on the tank.Tare weight is incorrect as other posters noted. Mine is stamped 71.4 lbs, actual is 74.9. Not a big deal for me, I have never had a propane station fill by weight.Quality of the tank body itself is good with good looking welds. Everything else - the collar, handles, wheel assembly - is not that great. Weld quality on some of those items is actually horrible. Tons of spatter, undercutting, etc. However, all welds to the head look a bit on the cold side, no undercutting, so that is a bit of consolation.Country of manufacture is Taiwan.Date of manufacture for my tank was 11 months prior to arrival, kind of a bummer but not a huge deal. Despite the minor issues, I would certainly buy another one if I needed it.

Disappointed
The Hog I received had a manufacture date of 11/2021 (2 years old). It was beat up pretty bad. Looked like it had been hit several times with a ball peen hammer and it had a significant amount of rust where the indentations were. Additionally, Must have been stored outside for the 2 years before it came to my house (sold as brand new) with spider webs all around the wheel wells and the feet of the tank. The bearings and the washers around the wheels and axels were completely rusted and the box it arrived in had been opened , taped , reopened and retaped several times.. Im guessing it was used. Very disappointed , to much of a headache to return.

Perfect
The only thing in my house is the fireplace this is perfect. Easy to get filled. We use a black stone all summer long no running to get propane every couple weeks. Awesome
