I ordered this smoke and carbon monoxide detector for our back hallway. It is positioned just outside the room with the utility closet where the water heater and furnace are located (I also have a CO detector inside that closet). This is pretty similar to most smoke and CO detectors. It is powered by 3 AA-batteries (and it came with 3 Energizer MAX batteries, so that is nice). After installing them, it went through it's initialization process and then I tested it. The smoke and carbon monoxide detectors have different alarm tones. Also, the indicator will show either a fire symbol, for smoke, or a skull and crossbones, for carbon monoxide. There is also a PPM display for carbon monoxide. After successfully testing it, I mounted it using the provided hardware (to mount it you will need a screwdriver or cordless drill, a drill bit or a punch that is the diameter of the plastic anchor tab, and a small hammer to gently tap in the anchors). Total installation time was less than 10 minutes.Considering the number of homes destroyed each year from fires and the number of people who lose their lives to home fires, if you don't have 2 or 3 smoke alarms installed in your home (and 2 or 3 fire extinguishers), you are putting yourself and your loved ones at risk.

For my house, having the extra protection of knowing if the gas furnace in the basement has a leak with this device is well worth it. I've mounted it in the basement spare bedroom for peace of mind. Put the batteries in, tested and it was working, very easy- plus it has a 10 year life. This Meross product is competitively priced when compared with Kiddie other similar detectors. Note it comes with the batteries (although one appeared damaged as shown in the picture). This smoke detector and CO2 monitor appears to work just fine plus it was recently made (August 2023). I don't mind that it is not connected to the other ones in the house-- in testing I found it plenty loud. What was a bit disappointing to me is that it does not connect to the Meross app. I love my two 3 year old Meross automatic Wifi connected garage door openers that are linked to Alexa (hence my 4 starts instead of 5). I would have expected this Meross product would do the same, but it does not. Regardless, overall a value buy.

This combination smoke and CO detector seems pretty standard-- very easy to install batteries, install the unit and test (just a couple of screws as is typical for these things). The alarm is loud (as expected) but not quite as loud as some I've heard- no worries, it's still loud enough to wake you up, unless you sleep "like the dead".Fortunately/unfortunately, I have not yet had an opportunity to witness the unit working (with actual smoke or Carbon Monoxide), but the test button functions as expected. For the price, it seems like a pretty good deal (wouldn't be if not for the CO detection)!

I was excited to give this dual smoke/CO alarm a try. I needed an easy to install alarm that didn't need to be hardwired in. Now-a-days, it's kind of hard to find an alarm that's just battery operated, like this one. I was also happy to see that it included a CO monitor and uses AA batteries, instead of the 9V kind I never seem to have on hand. I was also happy to see that this one is designed to avoid nuisance alarms like lit candles, dust, and that kind of thing. This alarm includes everything you need, including the batteries. It's very quick and easy to get it installed and has easy to understand functions. And in case you may be wondering, it doesn't seem to be set off by vaping.

Replaced my smoke detector with this after my CO alarm quit. Haven't had any emergencies to test this but it mounted right up in the same screw holes left by my old smoke detector. Comes with batteries and mount and everything you need.

This smoke detector and carbon minoxide combo is great. I got this to put in my garage. I have a pretty big garage and a separate room where the "man Cave " is. Well most people dont think about installing one of these in tbeir garage but i feel that anything can happen that starts in the garage . You want to br alerted so this detection combo is perferct for this. Its easy to install. Its long lasting that uses a 3 Aaa batteries and alerts you when the battery is low. The alert is loud enough to wake a sound sleeper.Great value
