One month later. Works great. Keeps time. Pendulum swings. Bought this to replace a 20 year old Howard Miller wall clock with pendulum mechanism. Original pendulum is much larger than the one that comes with this device but it worked with original. Great choice of hands. I actually used one of the sets that come with this item as they were nicer than original hands. I cannot vouch for durability - only time will tell. Just make certain that you accurately measure your existing movement as this item comes in 4 different sizes. Must measure threads, stem length and diameter. I had to remove the original movement from clock to make the accurate measurements. So pleased with this that I ordered and extra for years down the road.

When my very old battery operated clock failed, I purchased this clock kit and have been very satisfied. The pendulum works and looks realistic, and the clock keeps very accurate time. The selection of hands are great, there's a set for every type of clock. Don't hesitate to purchase this excellent mechanism.

Very disappointed with this. I ordered the smallest size to use on a desktop clock in a case about 1 ft tall. The dimension of the motor, length of the shaft post, etc. was acceptable for this application. I modified the length of the pendulum shaft to fit it in the case, but the swing was wild (like hyper fast with a wide side-to-side travel) which made it uncomfortable to watch. There's no way to adjust the magnetic pulse that drives the pendulum arm; adding weight just stopped it from moving. The clock movement itself didn't keep time accurately, even with a new battery. The ticking sound was audible and the pendulum continued to swing, but the hands didn't move consistently, stopping after about 30 minutes runtime. Adjusting the time and checking the fit of the hands on the post (poorly engineered with a circular hole on a cylindrical shaft and no way to tighten them) resulted in the same; sometimes the minute hand moved incrementally, and other times it stalled. Ultimately this piece was installed, troubleshot, and trashed all in the same day.

This came with everything I needed to mount to the clock face. Not all kits include the sheet metal piece that allows the clock to be hung from the mechanism. I returned a clock movement mechanism from a local store that didn't include that piece. I was going to use the "old" weathered arms, but I liked one of the arm sets from the kit. All great so far. But the pendulum movement just doesn't work on the clock movement sent to me. It seems to work at first push (inertia) but always stops swinging. As I'd rather have the clock working on the wall rather than work on replacement, I'm only whining here and didn't even attempt to return/replace it. Ao I've dropped the stars as a warning.

I have bought several of these to retrofit my antique wall clocks that I use in a maintenance free and winding-free set up. Although I put the original movement away in storage, I use the original pendulum and custom-make the pendulum arm, as each drop and clearance varies from one clock to another. Although the Included hands don’t exactly replicate the original hands, they generally fit well on a midsize face and look original. Once it’s set up properly with the movement level and plumb, and the pendulum swings without contact of the cabinet, it will run for at least a full year or more with.a standard alkaline battery. The swing of the pendulum closely resembles that of the original antique pendulum movement. A fantastic and very inexpensive way to revive an antique clock with a bad movement

Time keeping is poor and it eats batteries

Das Uhrwerk wurde von Amazon.us angeboten, kam aber im Endeffekt aus Spanien. Daher war die Lieferzeit entsprechend lange, was ich aber nicht als schlimm empfand. Der Einbau erfolgte als Austausch eines defekten Uhrwerks und funktionierte einwandfrei. Das genaue Ausmessen des alten Uhrwerks hat sich bezahlt gemacht, sodass ich die richtige Einbaulänge gewählt hatte. Der Lieferumfang ist sehr groß. Die vielen Zeigerlängen sind jedoch sinnvoll, da jedes Ziffernblatt ja unterschiedliche Durchmesser haben kann. Das Einbauen der Zeigen sollte mit viel Fingerspitzengefühl geschehen. Vorher auf jeden Fall die gewünschten Zeiger korrekt ausrichten!
