Ecology and Ecosystem Conservation Paperback – Illustrated, 1 March 2007

As an unprofessional self-learner, this book seems like an excellent primer, overview and introduction.Many concepts elucidated in a concise manner. And yes, probably of the easily digestible kind.

It is an easy read for anyone not into science and at the same time it is a nice refresher for anyone who has not picked up a scientific publication in a while. Unlike usual textbooks it also manages to tie subjects together to show the big picture.
