I needed to power a car Dashcam camera that had the original mini USB power socket. I did try a power lead that hard wired into the car fuse box but fitting that ended up not being as straight forward as I imagined. This Dash Cam Power Lead ended up being much easier to fit in the car. I just routed the cable underneath the passenger glove box and behind the centre console and brought the cable round to plug it into the cigarette lighter socket. It only comes on when you turn on the ignition and the bonus is it gives you a another USB power source to power/charge another device. No issues in using it so far.

Bought it as a replacement for the other power cable for my dashcam. Yet, it doesn't fit perfectly into the slot and keeps falling out every now and again. Before buying consider that the 12V charger is not going to work efficiently for both your dashcam and other plugged in device
