Whoa, it's magic!
So I bought this thrifted, ivory silk gown that was billed as a white cocktail dress. It has a train so could easily be for a party or a lovely, simple wedding gown. It used to be a Rent the Runway item and was retired to be sold. Unfortunately, I didn't know it was stained, until it arrived. There was what appeared to be purple wine stains on the bodice (front and back), as well as several, large makeup or red sauce stains on the skirt and train. There was also dirt on the train from being worn and dragged around on the ground or indoor flooring. I did multiple gentle, handwashings, which helped, but was not enough. I brought it to a professional dry cleaners. They only managed to lighten some of the stains. I bought Rit White Wash, as a last resort, because you can use it on silk and its visose lining, before I dyed the entire gown a beautiful burgundy to wear as a party dress. Oh, my stars! I am so excited to share that White Wash worked and the gown is drying right now. At least, while wet, it appears perfectly and pristine white. I am shocked! 🤯😍 I dont know what magic they put in this stuff, but would absolutely recommend to try the stove top method with windows open (it smells like sulfur), if you stained your favorite white clothing item and the pro's could not fully get the stains out. Photos are from the seller, while still stained. I can try to share photos of the dry gown, later. Yay, I am a happy customer that my Old Holywood party outfit is going to be work out, after all.

Did the job
I used on old cotton crochet doilies that were yellowed or stained. I did it on the stove with the hot water. It worked very well for the most part...even the one that is not completely white, it is useable again. My only complaint is the smell. First while held just below boiling on the stove. Turn on the fan! The directions say to pour the solution down the drain after use. I do not recommend this unless you want to have that chemical smell for 2 or 3 days. I just finished pouring Draino in the sink, followed by hot water and about a quart of white vinegar. I think it finally helped. The smell is reminiscent of old home permanent solution of yesteryear.

50/50
I had some white stained bed sheets and pillow cases. Unfortunately, this wash only worked on the pillow cases, it didn’t work on the stained on my fitted sheet.

Wow!! This stuff is incredible!
Wow, I can't believe how well this stuff worked! After having tried bleach, baking soda, and just about every home remedy on the Internet to get a beautiful but dingy and yellowed shirt white again, I was feeling pretty defeated and decided to try this as a last ditch effort. Within 30 seconds of putting the shirt in the solution it was already a brilliant white, and after 10 minutes it looked better than new! My family, who had seen the shirt before I used this product, were also shocked by how well it worked. I can finally wear one of my favorite shirts again! This poor shirt would have been destined for the dump had it not been for this product. I will definitely be using this again in the future and have already recommended it to multiple friends and family! One word of caution, however: if you use the recommended stove top method, heed the warning on the box and make sure you're in a very well ventilated area! This stuff really is quite smelly while it's on the stove top. It's worth it to save those beloved white items, but you're definitely going to want to turn on a fan and open a window!

Works like a miracle
I wish I had taken a before and after picture because this mix worked an absolute miracle. About 5 years ago one of my all time favorite skirts came out of a crappy college dorm washing machine horribly stained. The skirt was white, but it came out with a bunch of pink splotches even though there was nothing red in the load I had washed. I have had that skirt sitting in the back of my closet for 5 years because I couldn't bear to throw it away. I took it to a dry cleaners and they couldn't do anything with it. I bleached it multiple times and nothing. Finally, as a last resort, I decided to try this mixture, and determined that if it didn't work, I would dye the skirt a dark color. I was not at all optimistic. But lo and behold, it came out of the dryer BEAUTIFULLY AND PERFECTLY WHITE AGAIN. This took out a 5 year old stain that professionals told me couldn't be removed. If you've lost all hope, try this product: it might work a miracle.

Got the results I needed
I was very pleased with the results after using this product. I had a white sweater that was yellowed from bleach. I tried a vinegar rinse but it did nothing. I used the sink method, filling it with water simmered on the stove, so it was very hot. I also used the whole package, because, well, I didn't want to do it twice. The smell is pretty bad, but the product worked fantastic. I stirred frequently and could see the discoloration lifting. About half way through I added more hot water to the sink to keep it hot as I went the full 15 minutes. Using rubber gloves as directed, it took quite awhile to rinse the sweater. Luckily the sweater has a weave that could handle it. I rinsed till the water ran pretty much clear and then ran it through the wash because there was no way I wanted those chemicals against my skin, or any remaining smell. Overall this product salvaged a sweater that I loved but thought I would have to dye to possible salvage, which I didn't want to do. Very happy with having my sweater back to original condition!
