WD Red Plus 8TB NAS 3.5" Internal Hard Drive - 5640 RPM Class, SATA 6Gb/s, CMR, 128MB Cache

This is the second WD Red Plus drive I have and never had any problems whatsoever. I have used other well known makes in the past but they have been a little hit and mis.

The new WD Red Plus 12TB model is air filled whereas the older 2024 model was helium filled. Needless to say, the new air filled version is way noisier and power hungry. Avoid.

Quality drives as ever - NAS now populated with 8 x 8TB

As expected

Now installing into a NAS. Hopefully they'll stay the time. ALWAYS trusted WD hard drives. Time will tell

12 TB Sold by "Tannas LTD" sent a dead drive. Will have to return it. Not recognised by my NAS or PC.

This is a nice sized drive to replace a 6Tb drive that was running short of space. I have housed it in a Ugreen external unit, and after formatting, shows a capacity of 10.9Tb. All running fine, and I would expect no problems, as with all my previous WD Red drives.

Mine arrived non functioning but no sign of damage. It was in a retail box with minimal additional packaging so would probably have suffered excessive g forces in transit. Returned to WD under warranty but their process for sending a replacement seems rather flaky. Still waiting with no planned date yet.

Product delivered is not a working piece Kindly give the number of the customer service so that i can contact for warranty claims

Great price for this amount of storage. Wait till its on sale because the sale price is amazing $/GB. The drives are CMR so their read/write performance is good for NAS deployment. I have it in a truenas deployment and they work great. I've paired them with an NVMe read and write cache so I cant comment on real world speeds, other than that they are excellent

Drive arrived a week late to the 3 weeks ETA and was thought lost. Drive DOA (dead on arrival) no motor spin up in NAS or on a drive reader. Asked for a replacement but told as no stock only a refund would happen. The drive was now $200 more expensive in the 3 weeks I had waited for it. So declined the refund multiple times and demanded a replacement at no cost plus express delivery. After multiple emails, phone calls with management I finally succeeded in getting a new drive ordered. So hopefully will have something to show for it after 6 weeks waiting. Good

Potrzebowałem średniej wielkości dysk do domowego NASa, ten miał oceny i opłacalność. Wydaje mi się, że jest trochę głośniejszy niż sugerowały opinie, ale to nadal lekko zauważalne pyknięcia.
