Both the top and the spout are moisture proofed through the use of rubber seals. They work very well.

Q: Are the seals tight enough to use for liquid (e.g., soy sauce) as opposed to dry spices?

I have never have used these for a liquids only solid spices. I just use take out liquid envelope packs like soy sauce, sriracha, or others/ etc. placed in a zip lock bag.
