Perfection over 2 CD's. My favorite Tracks are Ashes and Pegasus, Beautiful Summer Tunes for the Car. I have bought ASOT's since 2010 and enjoyed every one of them, especially 2010 & this one. Would Recommend to anyone as a Great Summer compilation.

As usual, people just ignore the two star reviews and enjoy the yearly dose of quality trance :-) Love the zimmer comment !!! Some joke of a 'reviewer' left a comment admitting he hadn't even listended to the album !!!

Not quite as exciting as previous ones...
If you're a fan of AVB this will not disappoint. However, this year's release sounds a bit tired. Not sure if it's because of the lack of stand-out tracks and we've been spoilt over the years or if it's because this kind of trance hasn't evolved at all in the last few years. But this was the least exciting state of trance album I've bought since I can remember. Would be nice to see AVB putting in a bit more effort to make the mixes more creative. Also, CD1 is always labelled "Beach" but over the last few years CD1 has been sounding more and more like CD2, unlike the earlier ones which started with more mellow and progressive tracks. I hope next year's one will be a bit more memorable...

Alljährlich warte ich gespannt auf die Neuausgabe des ASOT-Albums. Mancher hat die elektronische Musik schon totgesagt, seit Jahren immer das selbe. Nach den guten Erfahrungen der letzten Jahre - ich kaufe mir die seit 2011 - wartet man praktisch auf einen Niedergang. Ist die fantastische Qualität der Vorgängeralben auch nur annähernd zu erreichen, geschweige denn zu toppen? Nach mehrmaligem Durchhören kann ich erleichtert bestätigen: Aber Hallo! Armin van Buuren ist DER Künstler unter den zahlreichen, der kaum überschaubaren Menge international gefragter DJs. Die große Kunst liegt nicht allein in der Zusammenstellung der zahlreichen Tracks auf diesem Jahresalbum. Vielmehr bekommt er es immer wieder hin, aus Durchschnittsmucke ein immer besser sich zusammenfügendes großes Ganzes zu machen, das immer wieder mal durch die Decke geht. Nicht nur verbessert er die einzelnen Tracks, sondern baut sie genial auf einander auf. Übergänge sind kaum hör- oder spürbar. Diese besondere Kunst fällt ganz extrem dann auf, wenn man sich ein Album mal in der Shufflefunktion anhört. Isoliert für sich verlieren die Tracks einiges ihrer Wirkung. Trance ist die melodische Form elektronischer Musik, in unterschiedlichem Tempo. CD 1 geht schon ziemlich nach vorne, hat mehr Tempo und Beat als die meisten Vorgänger der "on the beach"-Ausgaben. Im Club wird es natürlich noch etwas rassiger, mit etlichen künftigen Klassikern. Fazit: Wer Trance nur irgendwie ertragen kann, der kommt an diesem Album nicht vorbei.
