We bought this to keep our new puppy from going upstairs. I shopped around for a long time trying to find a gate within a gate that was not flimsy and cheaply made. This gate is perfect for our needs. I screwed the cups into the drywall on one side (and used the adhesive), and used the adhesive cups on our metal banister pole to secure the other side.The gate and latching mechanism seem very reliable and solid. Assembly and installation was relatively easy. I did over-think/engineer the installation to make sure it was perfectly level (but I also did not install it directly on the floor.) If you are curious, the wall cups are 28.25 inches center apart on each side.The only thing that I could think to improve would be the auto-close feature. If you allow it to auto-close from 5-25 degrees ~ 4 - 8 inches -- it latches itself reasonably without slamming. If you let go with the gate open beyond that, it does slam pretty hard/loud. It does hit hard, but no initial signs that it will break over time -- just from a pessimistic engineering perspective, it sounds like a lot of abrupt energy transfer. I might look into something I can add to it to achieve a softer close.Tl;dr - Sturdy, well-constructed, easy install, aesthetically pleasant, functional, don't let it slam. :-)

Set up and installation in less than 10 minutes. Even though my doorway is 48” across, it is sturdy. Looks sleek and functions extremely well. I like the auto close feature with the ability to prop it open as well.

We are grandparents that babysit our grand baby a couple of days a week and need a way to keep her away from the stairs. Her playroom is upstairs so that is where she heads at every opportunity. The first gate, the bigger one, is a barrier on floor 1 to keep her from the stairway located down the hall. The second gate is upstairs at the end of the hallway that leads to her playroom. We are very pleased at how solid they are and also with the gate openings, with a lift to open, easy for us but not so for baby. The one upstairs is anchored whereas we used tension for the one downstairs based on safety. We are able to leave them open when baby isn’t here. They were pretty easy to install too. We recommend them.

The media could not be loaded. This isn't a cheap gate, however it is well worth the price. I used it on the doorway from my house to my garage. I like to open my garage during nice weather for great airflow, however , I have 5 little chihuahuas who would be gone in an instant. This gate is easy to install, adjustable and the gate functions works perfectly. It closes automatically unless you open it to its widest point, which lets it remain open. I ordered the brown color as it matches both my garage colors and my flooring colors. It came with one more extension, 4 other rubber attachments for stairs i believe, and a threshold. I didn't need any of these at this point but will keep them in case I choose to move it. Very happy with the look and design of this sturdy, well built and well designed item. Highly recommend!

It was pretty easy to put together but the latch didn’t line up perfectly so there is effort involved in making sure it’s closed. If you’re putting it at the bottom of the stairs be aware that it makes the bottom step too small for the average foot so you will always have to be careful. I tripped carrying laundry and the gate came loose ripping a chunk off the wall with it. I would still recommend as a good purchase for anyone needing to keep their small dogs safe from the stairs.

The media could not be loaded. I have 4 dogs that sometimes need to be separate or we need to keep them out of the kitchen for a while. Although 2 of them are small, I have a medium size and medium to large size that sometimes jump on the gate. It has held up to dogs running into it, jumping on it, and pawing at it. Not to mention it's a TON easier to use the gate rather than step over something like other baby gates I've tried.The gate is easy to use even with a handful of items yet still keeps the dogs out. I'm really glad I found a gate that fits in our archway. This was the biggest obstacle with baby gates. We couldn't find anything big enough to fit in the archway since it's not a doorway. This had extenders to go even larger if needed, but the first set of extenders were enough for where we needed it.Putting the gate together was straightforward and simple enough. The directions were clear and I was able to set it up one morning before work. I'm really happy with how well this gate has worked and it has become almost a permanent fixture in our home haha

I like the convenience of the swinging gate; easy to open/close, and can contain my little puppy. Makes me more comfortable knowing he cant roam the downstairs freely with no supervision!

Easy to install, the height is just right for my 20lb terrier.
