About 20 yrs back i was working on transferring family tapes from VHS to DVD-r's. Sadly I never got to getting the files off the dvd-r's onto a pc and shared to family. My newer pc didnt have a disk drive so this thing has helped a whole lot. I was able to finally get around to getting the files off the dvd-r's, and now sharing them with family across social media where they can see it since we dont live in the same location. The biggest selling point was all the other options for connecting things and transferring stuff onto my pc with this device. I have a dash came that I can put a memory card into but sadly as of late it doesnt want to work right when I hook it up to my pc to transfer files. This thing save the day with that since I can slide the memory card into the slot on the backside of it.

Awesome!! CD plays good in your laptop must be stationary to both components. This player lights changes colors by design. This player has no serial number and it shows no time, how long to charge the external player. However, the color slows down and flashing when it's fully charged. It's a very nice unit component and easy to use. Playing music is a charm as it works through media player on Windows 11. All you have to do is follow the instructions, that came with the player. It also has a nice velvet storage bag! It is very portable. The value for it is worth it! The connectivity is very simple. It also comes with a very nice carrying case being black with an nylon red zipper. If perhaps you're looking for a good external CD-ROM player... this is it! I am very well pleased with this product! 👏🏻😁❤️

- The DVD Drive had problems with one of my CDs. It has like a custom photo printed on paper and pasted on top of the CD, very thin but it made the Drive sound very weird, I left it do its thing but after some seconds an alarm started playing from the Drive? then spitted out the CD. Could not read that CD. - While copying a lot of photos from a CD, it stopped copying, and one of the new files got corrupted, only turning the PC off was able to remove it. This also messed up with the DVD Drive driver, and Windows could not use the device again. What I did to solve this: 1) unplug the DVD Drive from PC and from power 2) uninstall the DVD Drive from Window's Device Manager 3) connect the DVD Drive to the PC again If it wasn't for this 2 problems, I would rate the product excellent 5 stars. I imagine less techy people would not know how to handle problem N°2 and end up returning it.

I bought this drive for my laptop. The connectivity is excellent. This item is easily portable from any location and small enough to fit in most any bag. Comes with a carry case.there was no compatibility issues found. The speed is excellent for my needs. So simple to use and excellent for the value

I was excited to pair this drive with my 2023 Mac Studio (to burn music productions). I plugged it in, and nothing. It powers up just fine, the lights come on, it sounds like it's reading the disk, but my computer cannot detect this unit. It's as if it isn't plugged in. I tried all ports. If you're a Mac user, I would not recommend this drive. I returned the item. I tested the CD functionality on my Windows PC, and it did work seamlessly on Windows (cannot speak to the DVD functionality). Unfortunately, it's not compatible with Macs (at least newer Macs).

the disk drive I used to have in my pc stopped working a few years ago and I never replaced it. (IIRC I threw my desktop, I can't remember why to save my life, honestly, no hdd at the time, only an m2 ssd so the pc works as normal, but the expensive m-disc compatible disc drive, which I was going to use for data archival and storage but never really did, stopped working correctly and I eventually removed it. Relatedly I need to clean my pc soon, thing is filthy). Anyway, I usually download ps2 roms to emulate since no disc reader. There was one I couldn't find online so I ordered this to rip the copy I have on hand (I own the vast majority of the ps2 games I emulate). It works like a charm, and I ripped a few more games while I was at it. Might rip my cd collection later too. it's been sitting unused for a few years. Oh and while the instructions for this say not to use it with a usb extension, I did because the built in lead is short, and it works fine, though my extender is blue, meaning it's usb 3.0 rated. It's a 3 or 4 foot extension.

This is perfect for my laptop which did not come with a CD drive. Now I'm able to install certain software that I only had on CD also watch movies on DVDs.
