Scales

The most comprehensive and useful scale system yet produced
A truly exceptional resource - it's hard to imagine any player from intermediate to virtuoso that wouldn't gain insights from this new system.Fischer's aim here is to demonstrate how scales can be used as a laboratory for improving intonation, shifting, finger placement, velocity, bowing, rhythm, accent...If you ever thought that scales were boring and mechanical, this book should convert you - there's a good deal here that I haven't seen in other systems.Clearly the product of a lifetime of experimentation and experience, this is an open-ended resource that every serious player and pedagogue should explore.

Standing on Carl Flesch's shoulders
At last ! A book that does so much more than simply write out the scales and suggest fingerings. I already had Paxton and Carl Flesch, so I hesitated before investing a sizeable sum in this new book. It was a thoroughly worthwhile investment. This is a first-rate teaching resource.

A must have for those who take their playing seriously
A very good approach to a sometimes tedious but essential part of violin playing. Very versatile to suit players of all levels.
