The Acoustimac DMDBT4000C Low Frequency Bass Trap is a high-performance corner absorber designed to eliminate problematic low-end frequencies in studios and home theaters. Featuring an average NRC rating of 0.95+, it uses dense 6lb Rockwool insulation wrapped in acoustically transparent fabric and housed in a sturdy cabinet-grade wood frame. Its trapezoidal shape fits snugly into corners, optimizing space and sound control. Fire-rated ASTM E84 Class A and including easy-install hardware, this bass trap delivers professional-grade acoustic treatment with a sleek, durable design.

## Description

Acoustimac DMDBT4000C Corner Bass Trap. 8 Sq. Foot Low Frequency Absorber. These panels are loaded with high performance 6lb Rockwool Insulation. Each bass trap is crafted right here in the USA, using high grade cabinet plywood, and wrapped in our Trademark DMD Acoustically Transparent Fabric. All Acoustimac Bass Traps are wrapped on front and sides in fabric, and have a wooden backing. These Bass Absorber are Available in 5 colors and Include Easy to install Mounting Hardware and screws for wall deployments. They have an average NRC Rating of .95 or higher with additional absorption on the low end of the band spectrum, which makes them your best choice for treating for 'boomy' or 'muddy' bass as well as standing waves in studios or home theaters. They also have the same mid and high frequency absorbers as our 2" acoustic panels. Our Corner Bass Traps have a trapezoidal footprint to allow for a snug fit installations into corners. (You will need at least 16" of room from each side of the corner.) Our corner traps do not have a plywood backing, but their longer sides provide more than enough structural support to allow for a flow through back which provides additional low frequency absorption.

Review: Professionally Finished and Solid - I'm just an average homeowner with a love of good movies and some fine stereo. Wanted to start treating my great/theater room for sound correction. The right and only place for my main towers is in the corner, and the built-in cabinetry creates a corner box on both sides making SBIR a problem with several low frequencies somewhere in the 300-900 Hz ranges, at least according to the calculators I have and what my ears tell me. This particular bass-trap product has a very adequate NCR across that range, and fits the corner perfectly. I chose the corner as the most likely best bang-for-the-buck since my first reflection points are vastly different on each side, and I get great wave decay due to the open ceiling (20 ft.) and back wall distance (18 ft.), and it's a trial and error project. I now have noted some recovered bass notes that were (wavelength) cancelled without the treatment, so it was a good start. After running a correction cycle on the receiver, I can run the mains on large and drop the sub cut-offs down to 60 or 80 Hz. I seem to be getting more 'fill-in' from the surrounds as well. So, yes, I'm a believer. BTW, I didn't use the Z-clip wall mounts and simply made 'feet' from 2" PVC pipe couplings that stand near each wall and each trap settles on top perfectly balanced and flush with everything.

I'm just an average homeowner with a love of good movies and some fine stereo. Wanted to start treating my great/theater room for sound correction. The right and only place for my main towers is in the corner, and the built-in cabinetry creates a corner box on both sides making SBIR a problem with several low frequencies somewhere in the 300-900 Hz ranges, at least according to the calculators I have and what my ears tell me. This particular bass-trap product has a very adequate NCR across that range, and fits the corner perfectly. I love Acoustimat! And found their DMD fabric to be a cut above most other brands. I didn’t find the z clips to be very useful, but it was fairly simple to cut some pieces of wood and screw some eye bolts in. The frames are more solid than any other brand. Would recommend!
