Finally able to use the switch handheld!
Having bought the Nintendo switch when it first came out, largely due to the flexibility of being able to use it handheld or plugged into the tv, I was disappointed to find the joycons were simply too small to be comfortably used, so for a few years it was only used docked, with a “proper” controller. I then saw an advert for the nitro deck, which looked far more comfortable to use, so I bought that, and for a while it was better, but found the right hand joystick awkward, so it was again limiting which games could be played handheld. Then one day Amazon recommended this one, and I decided to try one last time, with absolutely no regrets, it’s so much more comfortable and useable. Lightweight and the adjustable levels of vibration, which is a far better option than the nitro deck which would just rattle with every shake. It feels like an actual controller, with a screen in the middle, rather than some controls awkwardly tacked to the side of a screen. I’m not a fan of gyroscopic controls in any games and turn them off, so can’t comment on that feature. The programmable rear buttons are surprisingly useful too, a feature I didn’t think I would use, but now miss them when using the regular controller. I’m a big fan of the transparent purple too, as it’s a bit of a throwback to the game boy colour I had as a kid.

Iffy back buttons and some compatibility oddities
For the most part, this works great. It transforms the console to a bigger, more ergonomic unit which you can hook up to the TV on its own, as advertised, and it feels solid and works well. I’ve been testing it with Zelda (of course) and Bayonetta. The buttons have a solid, clean click, and the sticks - despite slightly smaller-than-Joycon caps - are smooth and responsive. The d-pad is definitely meant more for inventories and menus than action games but it feels like the right call. There’s one oddity and a couple of rough edges though:The most confusing is that the controller simply isn’t detected when some games load up for the first time. Even the menu button doesn’t respond. Popping the console off and back on immediately fixes that. I have no idea what the underlying issue is.The back buttons have a kind of half-squishy, half-clicky feedback that’s fine but not up to the standard of the rest of the controls. They’re easy to ignore if you’re not using them and I don’t. One of them actually simply doesn’t work on my controller but if I was bothered about it I’m sure I could get it repaired under warranty.Last and least, there’s the usual terrible buzzy rumble which is more like a cheap phone alert than any rumbling controller I’ve used. It’s really easy to switch rumble off on the controller itself, and the setting is remembered. So honestly, despite those quirks, I’d be very satisfied with this at the price. I’d prefer crystal or glacier blue to clear purple though!

So good.
Oh man, this gidget is just so good. Playing the switch on the go is so much better.Feels good and sturdy, buttons are responsive and have a hefty click and the joysticks are spot on.Now I need to grab an oled model, would be perfect.

Controller head snapped off
Bad build quality, controller head snapped off with fairly light use. Would not recommend.

A high quality item, with great extra functionality that greatly improves the Switch.
The media could not be loaded. This is a great product, very well thought through and very well made. The sticks feels top class and the buttons all have a satisfying feeling. The vibrate is substantial and can be turned up or down. It is more satisfying to hold as well than the Switch as it has meatier side grips so feels more like a regular controller or Steam Deck. The Gripcon makes the Switch fatter, but that is because it essentially incorporates the dock. It is much more of an all in 1 experience. It has a kickstand at the back to prop it up when playing with the controllers or using it with a TV. It also has space to store 2 extra games on the go.It has buttons you can custom map and also has turbo that can be added so you can repeat moves in games, like Smash Bros. You can adjust the speed of the turbo as well. The instructions are crystal clear. It is very easy to use. You slap the Switch in and then activate pro controllers in the settings. There is a quickstart guide stuck on the device to tell you how to do it. You only need to do it once.I really like the purple. It is see through so you can see the workings. It feels great in hand. The back has a nice felt material to stop any scratches on your Switch. It seems expensive but the way to look at it is that you're buying a pro controller for your console, which would cost the same or more on Xbox or PS5 but this has a lot more functionality on top, like the HDMI and mapping features. They talk a lot about the Hall joysticks, which I have never heard of, but they do seem top quality. Due to the functionality, quality and attention to detail it is a 5* from me.

Amazing Controller
I’ve been using the NexiGo Hall Effect Gripcon with my Switch, and honestly, I really like it! It’s super comfortable to hold, and the Hall Effect joysticks feel way smoother and more responsive than the regular Joy-Cons. It’s made a big difference for longer gaming sessions in handheld mode. What really sold me, though, is the docking feature. I love the idea that I can just pop it onto the kickstand and connect it to my TV with the HDMI out—no need to mess around with the regular dock. It supports 4K and 1080P, so games still look great on the big screen. Plus, it even has a USB 3.0 port, which is a nice bonus.Overall, the NexiGo Gripcon has been a great addition to my setup, especially for switching between handheld and docked mode. If you're looking for something more versatile than Joy-Cons, this is definitely worth checking out!

Very nice as a grip controller
This is my second order. First was missing thumb grips and the dock ports were misaligned. I am glad I ordered a second one as this one is perfect and came with the extra thumb grips. On to the review:Quality: The plastic used here is good quality. No issues with molding and all the edges are not sharp. All pieces fit together perfectly. The felt lining is perfectly sized and everything that touches your switch is either the felt back or the black glides. This excludes the plastic rails.Switch fit: You Switch is safe with this dock. Just make sure to brush of debris from the felt before inserting. The dock fits snuggly on the OLED model with little movement. When the Switch is fully inserted, the entire unit feels dense like a rock. Fit is perfect.Dock: Works like a normal dock. Picture quality is good. No lag or input delay. PD charging is full speed. The USB port will work with your typical peripherals. It works like a dock should and it is super convenient to always have it on your switch. My favorite part is that the USB C port is upward facing. Use the default charger. Lesser power charger will still work unlike the OEM dock, but output will be wonky.Rumble: It is the old style of weight spinning rumble. Not the best, but it isn't too loud. No button rattle and you can set 3 rumble speeds or off. The lowest speed is the closest to Joycons. High is powerful but it will numb your hands after a while.Buttons and inputs:-The back buttons are easy to program. It is typical and works like you would expect. Back buttons are clicky like a good gaming mouse press.-The Turbo mode has manual and auto, also typical and expected.-The Hall sticks are a bit more resistive than Joycons. About the same resistance you get from Xbox Series controllers. Its perfect.-The DPAD is better than Joycons. It isn't clicky, but you get feedback from each press. It is a good Dpad, but this is very subjective.-Face buttons have travel like XBOX series, but less clicky. Good and I like less noise.-Shoulder buttons have medium travel and are clicky. Not bad, but louder than i like.-Triggers are fairly shallow but have an expected bottom and activation. Its pretty nice for Switch.-Overall the inputs are nice and much better than the competition in this form factor.I like the controller grip. It is the best I have tried in this form factor. Since this also has a dock, this gets propelled so far ahead of the competition. When i say the rest, I have 2 in mind and you likely know what grip controllers I am referring to. I thought this grip would be generic, but I am super pleased at the quality and satisfaction I get here.Skip the rest and get this. You will be happy with your selection.

Solid OLED/OG Switch Controller/Dock
I was looking for a good controller for my switch OLED, and at first, I was uncertain as some of the reviews said it did not fit the OLED, well it does but it does require some oomph to get it into place and slot it, but it otherwise works seamlessly.Pros:1. Good stick movement and accuracy2. Buttons are nice and clicky3. No fear of the screen sliding off the rails4. Can charge and use it as a replacement dock5. Programmable Turbo function for buttons, and add buttons on the back of the program for easier accessibility.6. No lag during my use while playing Pokemon Scarlett, and Pokemon Unite.7. Good for Big Hands, similar to a dual sense.8. Fits both OLED/Original Switch, and comes with a stand.9. The padding is really nice and protective for both the game cards and the holding of the switch itself.10. It's also very sturdy and I think it could withstand a bad drop, and I tried to twist it to see if it would break or snap and it didn't overly bend.Cons:1. Buttons are clicky, and I am afraid they will go out or lose 2. function, and they can be loud for some.3. The back buttons behind the controller are very small, and smooth, and can be hard to press at times, so it may not be fitting for some.4. May not be easy to use for smaller hands.5. Charging can be iffy at times and not as fast, but it is efficient.6. It does not have any good grip on it and may be too slippery for some.7. If you have an OLED the stand for this item is not that great, as it is smaller and has less range of mobility, but for the Original switch this would be an upgrade, but it still has a smaller amount of range to lean the switch down.Besides these ups and downs, the controller is pretty good, but it could be used with some improvements on the size, back button placement, kickstand, and grip ability, beyond that it works fantastic for my OLED for gaming on the go!

Good controller/dock combo
There are some gaps, if you are using normal (not an OLED) switch, like me. But during gameplay do not care.Didn’t notice any latency in “tv mode”.Really gave my switch a second live, finally can play some serious games on the go. 👍
