Q: Is this filled with cotton or buckwheat? The description says buckwheat, but title, photos and video say cotton.

This one is filled with buckwheat.

Q: Would this make a good side sleeper pillow for between knees and ankles?

I'm a side sleeper and I enjoy curling up against this bolster. I tend to hug it while I sleep. It might initially be bit thick for your liking to use between the knees and the ankles, but with its design, it is always possible to make it thinner by removing some of the filling, which you can save and add back should you wish to adjust it later. . I found using buckwheat filled pillows so much more comfortable than ordinary pillows, I've replaced all my pillows with buckwheat filled pillows.
