Ok, so this thing is pretty awesome. I'm a big fan of how the top rim is reinforced. It makes removing the block alot easier because the rest of the mold sort of collapses while peeling it out. I run water along the outside of the mold immediately after removing it from the freezer, and the ice pretty much comes right out with a little maneuvering. Without running water over it you will need to let it sit. It's alot of ice. It's easier to get this 10-12lb ice block out than some of my silicone whiskey stone molds. Look at the dimensions...these blocks are BIG. You can build an igloo with these. I'm actually looking at getting a small deep freeze just to accommodate ice blocks. Is that bad?? I put a single block in a roto molded ice chest with 60lbs of bag ice in 50° weather and after 4 days there is literally only a tablespoon of water in the bottom. Wild. The ONLY knock I have is that the blocks have been coming out with a bulge in the bottom. If you look at the picture out of the mold closely you can see it. I'm not knocking my rating though because I think it has to do with my freezer shelves giving under weight. The bulge significantly reduced when I put it on the more sturdy bottom shelf. I'll keep experimenting to find what I'm sure is the solution for a perfectly rectangular block. Just buy it, but I warn you...you will run out of room and be looking at another freezer just like me. Hope the tips help.

This works great for adding ice block to my cold plunge. Previously I had four smaller silicon molds without a lid. This one piece mold with a lid was a great upgrade. I can place it in my freezer and 24 hours later I have a 12 pound block of ice ready to go. The lid fits snugly onto the mold to prevent spills and the metal frame around the top makes it very easy to lift in and out of my deep freeze. I would highly recommend this if you don’t want to spend money on bags of ice a couple of times a week for a cold plunge.

These ice molds do what they are supposed to do. They are easy to use, make large blocks, and are sturdy enough that they don’t spill when moving them from the sink to the freezer. I subtracted one star because after several uses their shape has become a little distorted.

Great ice holder! I am using it to store crushed ice in my freezer. Before I found this, the crushed ice would freeze together and had to be broken apart with an icepick. Now it is easy just to bend the silicone container and the ice comes apart quickly and easily.

Really like this it’s makes it super convenient to store in the freezer. The material does not break. I plan to purchase more so I can always have ice on hand. It creates the perfect large ice block

A 12 pound ice block is huge. I usually fill the mold halfway to make 6 pound ice blocks for my fishing cooler. The size and shape of 6 pound ice blocks that I make with this 12 pound ice block maker is perfect for my needs.
